::Job opportunity?

Tuesday, June 08, 2004

Paul Denise, my youngest son, got a tempting offer, to work in a foreign government, with a salary double than his brother's salary!

The conflicting issue is this: He's now enrolled and ready for the school opening, will he accept the job and leave his studies later? Honestly, this confused me.

Hello.

Go with your gut feeling. I myself would be a bit hesitant to have one of my children turn down college to go to a foreign country for work. If he is that set on it he'll go anyway. I just think an education is more important. Just pray for a little guidance and I'm sure with God's help you will make the right decision.

Randy, I am still hesitant whether to send him away or not. His seriousness in his studies is not clear and if I will let him work, maybe he will have a change of mind and heart about his life...

May God enlightened us, we really need divine guidance... I cannot afford another mistake.

This kind of puts you in one of those great moments that we parents have to go through. I always felt that it is better to get the education, that way if the job doesn't work out for some reason, they will have the education to get a decent job until another high paying job comes along. While the job may sound tempting right now, and he'll get the big bucks right now, how long will he be able to work there, how stable is it, and will he enjoy what he is doing? Those are the things you must think about. Don't let it worry you too much, because if he is anything like my kids, he'll do what he wants anyway.
