::Da Vinci Code

Thursday, August 12, 2004

While voting blogs for categorization purposes to be listed under BlogShares industries, I surfed across one site entitled: The DaVinci Code: Uncover The Code Contest

Of course, I don't know the answers but, after I did some googling, I found the answers one by one to the questions. They are here but, you won't see them if you don't look very closely...

  1. What is the more common name of Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting
"La Giaconda"? Answer: The Mona Lisa
  2. In what city does The Mona Lisa reside? Answer: Paris
  3. To what secret society did Jacques Saunière belong? Answer: The Priory of Sion
  4. What enigmatic sculpture stands one degree North of the location indicated
    in the code? Answer: Kryptos
  5. According to Kryptos, what are the initials of the person who "knows the
    exact location"? Answer: WW
  6. The cover flap describes the novel's plot,
But simple words can often hide a lot.
Within those paragraphs (and shrouded fast),
Resides a mystic phrase from ages past.
To make your quest... abandon any fears,
If you are bold, the font of truth appears. Answer: Is there no help for the widow's son
  7. For which ancient brotherhood (still active today) does this phrase have
    special meaning? Answer: Freemasons
  8. What famous phrase is printed around the seal? e pluribus unum
  9. The eyes of Mona Lisa launched this quest.
And now her knowing gaze lays it to rest.
The French would say her "OEIL DROIT" holds the key
Just point and click on it (referring to the image)
-- and you're home free! Answer: Oeil droit = right eye (Click HER right eye!)

If you wish to uncover the code yourself, visit The DaVinci Code: Uncover The Code Contest. If you cannot find the answer, you may come back here again and locate the answer to complete the game or visit Matt Thornton site, who claimed copyright on difficult answers...

=THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL GET IN THE END AFTER ALL THE TROUBLES YOU ASSHOLES BEEN TO=

A special person has recorded a private message for you at 1-212-782-9932

Calling this number plays a recorded message:

Hi, this is Dan Brown, author of the Da Vinci Code. If you're calling this number, I assume you've solved the web quest, so congratulations, well done.

I hope you enjoyed taking this quest, as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. Of course, if you've not yet read the Da Vinci Code, I hope you will soon. In the meantime, I'll be hard at work on the next Robert Langdon thriller.

Thanks again for playing, and congratulations on completing your quest.

The END

Wow! You're great! Really! I'm Polish and I don't understand bit. I love Leonardo Da Vinci. He's my authority. I now read The DaVinci Code. This book is wonderful. Your answer very help me. Greet You.

Posted by: MILENA on December 26, 2005 09:55 PM

Well, to solve the 2nd question, you will need to arrange all the words into a perfect square just as it says in the clue. If you've played the Uncover the Code Contest, you should know how to use the Caesar's Box. Form the words WTRGOWRTDTWOLOCDBANOOENDM into a box like this:

w t r g o
w r t d t
w o l o c
d b a n o
o e n d m

which reads www dot robertlangdon dot com. I'm sure you should know it tells you to go to Robert Langdon's site at http://www.robertlangdon.com. Robert Langdon is also another character in the Da Vinci Code story. Find out more about him there.

Whoever needs more answers or help, can contact me as I've solved all the codes and am glad to lend a helping hand.

The Louvre Paris is the largest and arguably the most renowned museum in the world. The collections are divided into the Richelieu, Sully and Denon wings, which can all be entered from the base of the Pyramid

Many visitors begin their visit with a trip to see the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci on the first floor of the Denon wing.

Posted by: Laila* on March 3, 2005 12:03 PM

Well done, my friend, I sense your heart is true.
You now have earned the right to your next clue:
The Mona Lisa's dwelling once housed kings.
A lavish Paris palace with three wings.
One wing is Sully... one is Richelieu.
Please name the third (I've mentioned only two).

Can anyone tell me for the answer?!!

There is some speculation that "La Giaconda" is actually a self portrait of da Vinci himself.

Do an overlay of the mirror image and the portrait of da Vinci as
an old man sometime. The faces line up. There was once a
PBS (Nova?) episode on TV concerning this.

Interesting da Vinci website:
