::Morales VS Pacquiao

Monday, March 21, 2005

I am not a sports enthusiast and it wasn't my intention to watch WBC International Super Featherweight Championship held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 19th (March 20th in Manila) but my son asked me a favor to record the fight as he was busy playing computer games. Since politicians were riding on Manny Pacquiao's popularity, the more I avoided watching nor following his boxing career.

But, today, I had never thought I would admire him, not only as a sportsman but, also as a modern hero. He had a serious cut above his right eye on the 5th round and his mouthpiece was thrown away on the 10th, yet, he never gave up and stood firm to fight for his country until the 12th round.

While Morales won by unanimous decision 115-113, in the hearts of millions of people who watched their bout, Pacquaio left a very good impression and made him closer to our hearts.

Mabuhay, Manny! Magaling ka palang umilag!

butterfly Let me know you were here, your thoughts are welcome!

As a mexican american and I have lived in your country. I see the same quailites in the which both countries are proud of there countrymen. I really know that in these times we need to have men like these two. They represent the essense of the true sport and dedication that it takes to be great at anything. These gentlemen are true warriors but also great for our kids to look up to and believe that with hard work anything is possible.

before the figth begin i gave a short prayer to win this figth against morales whom i know will have a very hard time for him to defeat my idol and the living legend of the ring. As I am watching the fight i continue praying to give him enough strenght up to the last minute and God heard my prayer. Congratulations my Idol you're a hero you brought
happiness and make the Filipino once again a very high impression. Mabuhay ka Idol

Most Filipinos pray for the victory of Manny. That's why many of us loved Manny, not because of his ring performance but because we see inspiring characteristics of Manny and that he brings a lot of happiness to the Filipino people. Manny shall win this 2006 fight with Morales. We love you Manny. Luther Cabilao - Gen.San.City

I would like to comment about the pacquiao morales fight on jan. 21, 2006. I think pacquiao will knock out morales before the seventh round because pacquiao will be using the cleto reyes gloves which is perfect for a power puncher like him but I like to see morales down on his knees on the first round!
