::DSL Technical Problem

Monday, March 28, 2005

Each time there is DSL internet service interruption and there is no way to connect to the internet nor inform PLDT DSL technical people that I didn't have internet access by calling their busy 172375 direct line, I couldn't help but feel they were cheating all their subscribers by not providing a 24/7 Technical Assistance. Any ISPs nationwide provide Technical Support, be it post-paid or prepaid internet. Only PLDT DSL breaks this protocol. What's worst, they won't e-mail us the reason why the sudden service interruption occurred.

And I am not really happy about this. Infocom handled 24/7 Technical problems before satisfactorily. Why PLDT had taken over Infocom Technical Support and 173 was accessible only during working hours. While 172375 is now available, we couldn't get through this hotline number whenever we had internet interruption problems. Even their website was inaccessible. How can I log a complaint ticket?

Also, I feel we were deceived with a promise of improved bandwidth speed instead of reducing broadband rates. I cannot express well how disappointed I am right now.

Can you imagine how it feels like to blog using a dial-up?

butterfly Let me know you were here, your thoughts are welcome!

Laila, try subscribing to another company if you can do that. That isn't fair. You pay them in full and yet their service isn't good. I have the same problem with my connection except it's a wireless broadband using an antenna mounted on my rooftop. I don't want to mention my service provider, but it isn't PLDT. Anyway, I've been having service disruptions for months now and they weren't able to fix it. Their technical support number is working; at least, I can call and talk to their technicians. However, they couldn't fix the problem; they've been to hour house a number of times to check the antenna and even replaced the old gateway box, but the problem wouldn't go away. The brand of this box is Airspan. I wonder if you have the same brand for your DSL device.

Hi! I have seen your posts and those of other pldt mydsl subscribers.

I would also like to share my very dissappointing experience with pldt mydsl.

I have an internet cafe and I subscribed to pldtmydsl. Since installation, i was already having problems on getting connected. I t takes me hours to do so. After two weeks i called the customer service hotline to report on this. I did this for so many times. The only reply I got was that they were monitoring my connection. After more than a month, I called 171. The reply was that the modem was defective and that i am to blame for it. I was totally surprised because never did their technician say that the modem was defective. He kept saying that it was the pldt server that was causing the problems and yet he reported that the modem got defective in my premises!

Their customer service sucks as well, I get replies 2 to 3 weeks ang earliest. I have been patient to wait for them to fix my connection for 5 months already. At this time, more than 1 month nang walang dsl connection. Ang nakakakulo ng dugo is that they keep on charging kahit wala na akong connection. Their reply, pay up for the very lousy service or shall i say pay-up for the non-service and we will fix your connection!

Hay naku! I told them I am damn tired of their lame replies. I will be writing to the ceo or the president to make them aware about things like this.

Dave, so far, I don't have problem with DSL. However, I will forward this matter to their email and let me see if my mail will bounce back to me.

You know I once tested the response of the 172375 "helpline".

I stayed on hold for 97 minutes. The email to rgbdsl bounced (shows how often they check it), and the text I made I'm still waiting for a response 3 months later.

Even though I'm supposed to be on 768/256, I never get more than 128 up, and as the weekend approaches, my 768 drops down to 180, if I'm lucky.

Keep up the blog, and the crusade (even though "nothing" will change within PLDT) ever ...

hello leila,
I get only 90 KBPS from my subscription of P 3000/month or 1 MBPS. I get these test results from CNEt and bandwidthplace. I call 171 and they give me no 172375 to call to complain re DSL speed. It takes me 1/2 day to call. Result.Nothing no answer except a machine.
I feel cheated.Imagine getting only 10 % of your money's worth. I know a network administrator can manage your speed up or down. I have seen MIcrosoft ISA server do this. Is PLDT decreasing speed intentionally? This is stealing from consumers.
I resorted to this blog . i hope PDT reads blogs.

hello Laila, if you visit my blog you'll know that you're not the only one with gripes against PLDT-DSL. There's quite a few related websites that I cannot access, and I have been told this is an ISP problem. When I asked them about it through email, it took them four weeks to tell me they had talked to the mother of the subscriber on record and the aforementioned mother said there were no problems with the DSL service. The thing is, my mother died six years ago, and I live only with my husband and two kids, all of whom do not even remotely sound like my mother. hay naku ...
