::Change of Mind

Tuesday, May 24, 2005

For the past three days, my daughter became busier outside our home. She's pursuing a job which made me feel upset lately because next month, school year 2005-2006 will start and I want her to continue her studies in college taking up Engineering course.

When I told her last month that I can afford to send them to the university for another year, she started thinking about getting a job instead and suggested she will take care of her school expense by herself once she's able to.

This idea made me feel uncomfortable. I made a vow (to God) to send them to school while I can still afford it but now that she changed her mind, I am not sure whether I should be happy my youngest kid is now responsible and thinking of helping with the household expense.

I pray that God may enlighten and guide us well to the right path... my daughter is 21.

butterfly Let me know you were here, your thoughts are welcome!

I'm new to your site. I can't help but say it must have been tough for you being a single mother. I have long way to go with my 3 years old son. I think that you should be more patient and try to motivate your daughter. but if she decided that she wants it on her own then maybe you can just save the money and set it aside for her (you can never say that in the middle of her studies she may need financial assistance). Great blog!

Sorry to hear that. My hope is that she would continue her studies first and then hit the job market. Education leads to better jobs, and knowing how some folks take advantage of youngsters from other countries, I think this would be a very bad move for her to do at this time. My two cents.
