:: Family Reunion Part II

Saturday, April 30, 2005

Our family had another reunion without even planning it. I called them late in the evening last night to have lunch with me today. Fortunately, Ate Neth arrived this morning from China as a chance passenger while Fatima is leaving to Hong Kong at 4:00 o'clock this afternoon.

Here's our family photos taken from a cellphone camera:

:: Missing Junjun

My eldest son, Junjun, had been away from us for a year now since he left on April 30, 2004 when he decided to work in Saudi Arabia instead of continuing his studies. I terribly missed my son but, I should let him establish himself and let him get work experience abroad.

He sent me these photos yesterday.

:: Borderline Extortion

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

A Forum Admin believes 18000 chips was a borderline extortion against my initiative when I upgraded player 27964's account to BLOGSHARES PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP and paid US$15.00 through PnP's Paypal account. I advised 27964 to pay 18000 chips to PnP (after 30 days) which is currently valued at B$450B at B$25M per chip exchange rate and has eBay auction value of less than US$3.00. To my surprise, 27964 refused to accept to 'work off 18000 chips' and many find an opportunity to make things worse instead of educating the newbie that it was the usual on-going rate to help a newbie have a premium account.

The worst, I was humiliated once again in the IRC. I want nothing from player 27964. If he wants to pay 18000 chips to PnP or not, we could have given the membership for free but, not to such an ungrateful soul. Anyway, many thanks to Jay, the BlogShares owner, for extending my premium account until 11 March 2007 and to Just James in protecting my interest.

I was just wondering why do some people cannot appreciate the spirit of kindness and generosity?

:: Breast Cancer

Tuesday, April 26, 2005

I was saddened by Randy's news yesterday about his wife, Rose, who was diagnosed of breast and skin cancers after series of tests were conducted on her.

It is harder to accept that a loved one gets cancer. I was pondering on Rose's situation. What if it happened to me? What would I do? I couldn't help but offer Randy and his family some prayers and I lighted 3 candles and prayed the rosary for Rose and Ate Neth's wellness.

My sister is currently in China for business but, I was told by her son yesterday that she's sick and not feeling well since she arrived there.

Anyway, Randy and his family will always be in my prayers. Miracles do happen to those who believe and I wish her doctors made a mistake with their findings.

May the Almighty God miraculously heal her.

:: We're okay!

Sunday, April 24, 2005

Although I didn't blog like I used to in the past days, we're doing fine and busy playing games at home. Inactivity gave me guilt feelings and I didn't know whether I have to give up my DSL internet, move on, and find a job.

By next year, life will be harder if I keep playing games online and continue neglecting my responsibilities...

:: A Reunion With Fatima

Sunday, April 17, 2005

After many years of absence due to her employment in Hong Kong, my eldest sister called for a FAMILY REUNION today which we held at home. Due to busy schedule, Ate Neth and Nasser made it later in the afternoon, two hours after Fatima, mother, and Pacette left to visit BEH and family, my youngest sister, who lives in Antipolo.

Fatima slimmed down a lot and got a nice figure better than me. Guess I was the fattest among my sisters these days. We barely discussed many things because my daughter had visitors as well whom accompanied us to the wake of Ariane's father, Eduardo Quinto, at Arlington Funeral Homes.

It's really a busy day for all of us.

:: Charles and Camilla

Sunday, April 10, 2005

BBC: "Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have married at Windsor's Guildhall."

Camilla serves as an inspiration. Maybe I still have a chance to have that special someone, too, who will come along and loves me with all his heart and sincerity...

Funeral Rites of the Holy Father

May the Angels lead you into paradise, Pope John Paul II.
Thank you for the inspiration. We love you.

:: Slow Connection

For the record, I sent PLDT Customer Support this message last night:

Subject: SLOW CONNECTION
From: Laila*
Date: 4/7/2005 9:38 PM
To: PLDT Customer Care <customercare@pldtdsl.net>

I wonder why my connection is slower than dialup the whole day today? May I know what is going on? Your Hotline 172375 was too busy to accomodate calls.

I didn't like to think we, subscribers, were denied with 24/7 Technical Support...

Please reply.

:: Goodbye, Pope John Paul II

Wednesday, April 06, 2005

I'd like to say goodbye to His Holiness Pope John Paul II, known also as Karol Józef Wojtyla, 84. Billions of people mourned over his death but, believe it or not, I prayed that may his sufferings be shortened and let him rest in peace.

Whatever his absence can do to our lives, it's sad to see good people leave us. Now that he's with our Creator, I want to say once again through this blog, goodbye dear Pope John Paul II, may you rest in peace.

Meanwhile, who's with Arroyo as she leaves tonight for Vatican?

:: Flash Course - Day 5

Tuesday, April 05, 2005

This is my fifth and last day in 15 hour Flash Course.

We created a banner today. Melch shared to us the techniques in importing files, adding buttons in it, inserting sounds and effects, adding getURL, and publishing our work.

Somehow, I slowly understand the application but not enough to be creative and publish a flash. I will probably summarize my work, so that you can also try them yourselves using the file I will upload here later.

Anyway, may I present to you the March 30th Class:

:: Flash Course - Day 4

Monday, April 04, 2005

This is my fourth day in 15 hour Flash Course.

We have learned today about masking and motion guide. Actually, I had a bad luck in class today. I had the same seat but different CPU this time. The system was infected with popup virus, similiar to the ones I have in my PC earlier. What made me furious was, after diligently working with rainbow and butterfly, I had lost them when I was trying to save my work in a diskette while my daughter and our instructor were watching. Glad he saw my problem with his own eyes.

Anyway, because of the problems I had with the PC, we were the last ones to leave the room. Tin, Pearl and I went for grocery shopping after class.

It was a busy day for me...

:: Flash Course - Day 3

Friday, April 01, 2005

This is my third day in 15 hour Flash Course.

Learning from past mistakes, I arrived in the class room earlier than my fellow trainees. Half of the class were actually late (except me). I took the same seat given to me yesterday.

We learned today about motion tweening objects. As part of the exercise, we created a car, inserted motion tweening on wheels, and saved our work in a diskette. I created first a truck, which is easier to draw than in a car until I have them both saved as fla.

I found out today that my fellow attendees had internet access since the beginning of the class and mine were offline. I asked a favor with Melch that on Monday, I want to have internet access as well and also gave him an assignment to create a Friendster Flash Group where we all can get in touch after we finish our Flash course.

Before going home, I dropped by at DEC and bought some siomai for Denise.
