Marriage Proposal

The engagement ring

On April 1, 2004, I blogged about "Marriage Proposal" as a joke to celebrate April Fool's Day but, somehow, today, my potential soulmate proposed to me. He knelt down before me (at the foot of the escalator of a big shopping mall) and asked me to marry him.

I was so touched when he put the engagement ring on my finger. We kissed and hugged each other, after I accepted his offer to love me forever and beyond.

Mulawin, The Movie

Wednesday, December 28, 2005

We're supposed to go to Subic and then to Baguio City but the weather forecast was bad so we watched instead Mulawin, The Movie with Mama and the kids.

We later had merienda at Chowking for a change.

World Pyro Olympics

Tuesday, December 27, 2005

Today, all of us were lazy and feeling sick after watching the 1st World Pyro Olympics last night which was held at The Esplanade (formerly Promenade), which is located right in front the SM Mall of Asia, inside the Bay City Central Business Park, in the City of Pasay.

We missed the China Fireworks display but we're able to enjoy the Show FX Australia Pty Ltd's Fireworks. Traffic to AsiaMall was congested so we parked the van and walked our way to AsiaMall. Two traffic Policemen accomodated us a motor ride until to Gate 2 entrance. I already had the entrance tickets which I bought on the 22nd from a Jollibee - MegaMall outlet.

We had taken some photos but I had difficulty uploading images to my server.

MT Activity Log Overload

Monday, December 26, 2005

My youngest sister often told me that something was wrong with my blog: The page was either empty or didn't load properly its page.

One possible reason is either MT activity log overloads or MT is corrupted due to transfer of files from one server to another? Anyway, many thanks to Scripty Goddess. I was able to reset activity log by just clicking this link: http://www.ladylaila.net/mt.cgi?__mode=reset_log.

The Movable Type activity log contains a record of notable actions in the system and I'm glad I can view system log once again.

Lunch With The Orphans

Vera, my best friend, arranged in my behalf to have lunch with some kids, along with their guardians from Ating Familia Foundation, located at 441 San Pablo St., San Antonion Valley, Parañaque City. We took them to a lunch at Jollibee - Sucat branch.

City Tour

Sunday, December 25, 2005

Today, we're supposed to meet Ma. Sarah Alea (Save-the-Children) but, her guardian didn't call me to acknowledge the invitation I made on the 13th.

I decided to treat Mama and Papa to a lunch but they had eaten in Ate Neth's house already because it was Jessie's birthday! We ended up eating our lunch there, too! Beh, my youngest sister was with her two sons, Ziad and Samir. They joined us later when we had a city tour and calesa ride from Luneta area until Intramuros. Three calesas convoyed us around Manila area for an hour.

We all had fun.

Christmas Party With Siblings

Saturday, December 24, 2005

I can hardly recall when was the last time I hosted a Christmas Party for my siblings with their children around but, due to smaller apartment space, I only invited Ate Neth, Pacette, Nasser and Ana (wife of my brother Egay). We're supposed to meet at 7 o'clock in the evening but as usual, Ate Neth arrived late. We started the party as soon as she arrived. All of them should be home before 10 p.m.

I had three reasons why the party was held . First, I want to spend the Christmas with them in case it would be my last Christmas in the Philippines. Second, I want them to carry on this practice every year (even without me) and lastly, I introduced my potential soulmate!

The party went well and their specialty dishes won them surprize gifts. Nasser, who cooked breaded chicken won first prize (top grill and griddle); Pacette was second place (rice cooker); and, Ate Neth and Ana won themselves 3rd prize (oven toaster).

While Butch dropped Ate Neth and Nasser home, we went to hear mass at a nearby church. I thanked God for all the blessings...

Missing Pieces?

Friday, December 23, 2005

A potential soulmate knocked at my door.

He has offered to fulfill the missing pieces (in my life) and wishes to love me forever and for all eternity! The latest developments happening this month are unbelievable. They're too good to be true but, it seemed perfect so far.

Whatever role he's going to play in my life, God will be the center piece of everything we do.

Dinner at Kamayan

We had buffet dinner with Vera (my best friend), Sherwyn, Tintin and her sisters at Kamayan Restaurant - Ortigas after shopping.

Some of us had the ultimate buffet. It's a choice between Kamayan's Filipino dish (yellow plate), Saisaki's Japanese dish (green plate), and Dad's American dish (blue plate). While I was concerned with my weight, I couldn't help but enjoy their eat-all-you-can buffet.

Everybody had a great time. Yummy.

Lunch Meeting

Sunday, December 18, 2005

My siblings (Ate Neth, Pacette, and Nasser), sister-in-law (Ana), and I had a lunch meeting along with Mama, Helen, Sweetie, and Jenny in Max Restaurant.

We discussed how we're going to celebrate Christmas Eve in the most economical way. And to motivate and inspire them in sharing their specialty dish to participating family members, I will be awarding gift prizes. In case this will be my last Christmas here in the Philippines, I want them to continue this practice, no matter what happens.

To our youngest sister, Beh, who was unable to attend due to her current family crisis, I will try to visit you there in Cavite on the 25th if I find time to do so.

New Passport

Tuesday, December 13, 2005

I received my new passport today which was issued on the 5th of this month. In God's willing, may the said passport opens many doors of opportunities, fulfillment, and happiness.

Invitation

Ma. Sarah Estrada Alea

Randy and I planned to give Ma. Sarah Alea and her family a surprise Christmas treat on the 25th of this month.

Save The children

Since we have only 12 days left before Christmas, I decided to drop the invitation directly to Save-the-children Philippine Affiliate P. O. Box no. 4448. I am hopeful her guardian will contact me on or before the 25th to set the meeting schedule.

FLU

Saturday, December 10, 2005

I had been suffering from flu for the past couple of days. The stress and sudden change of temperature were the main reasons. But, I was thankful I didn't have asthma allergy like what I had in year 2000.

In spite of being sick, I even went malling with daughter and Tintin but, we decided to go home as soon as we had lunch at Shakeys. We went at SM North to pick up Sweetie's SM Advantage Card and to check what entertainment events are available by the fourth week of this month. But, I forgot the latter because I wasn't expected there will be more people are doing their Christmas shopping spree. Air conditioning cannot handle the great number of shoppers and I started coughing until daughter suggested that she wants to have Mocha shake at Shakey's Pizza. We had pepperoni pizza and Chick-n-chips. After Shakey's, we decided to go home and leave the grocery shopping on weekdays, where fewer people do their shopping (I hope).

Since we moved here in Metro Manila, I didn't remember seeing a clear blue sky, it's always smoggy here. While there will be meteor showers on the evening of the 13th of this month, it's sad to say I won't be able to make a wish if the sky is not clear.

Anyway, I'm not feeling well after the mall. I feel I will have another flu... cough... cough... cough...

Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Monday, December 05, 2005

Sweetie celebrated her 22nd birthday today with mother, Tin, Ariane, Paul Denise and me at Dencio's Restaurant, Gateway, Cubao. She refused to celebrate it unless mother joins us.

Happy 22nd Birthday, Sweetie Pearl!
