28 Hours No Internet

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Randy and I woke up early so we can go to the bank at 9 AM.

Unfortunately, we couldn't leave until Bayan DSL contractors showed up. At noon, some linemen from ADTEL came and yet, they annoyed me to the max! They said, the service order to transfer our phone line and DSL were wrong. They said someone else, not them, should fix our line.

Still annoyed, I called Bayan Hotline 4112000 and Anne answered my queries. I also talked with Vince Dimaculangan, Anne's supervisor, and informed them about the ADTEL boys who came over our place. After an hour, Lumen Cruz (Tel. No. 4498046), a Bayan Account Manager called up and tried to know my DSL concern. I told her more than 26 hours now we do not have internet.

Then, Raffy aka Rafael F. Chavez, another ADTEL guy came over at 3 PM. He checked both DSL and phone line and left. I wanted to call Bayan Hotline again but I found out our phone line has no dial tone. I sent SMS to Bayan 09178932189 to inform them we have dead DSL and phone line.

In between these BAYANTEL drama, Randy and I were watching the continuation of Season 1 of CSI. Oh! Well... funny how both of us forgot those episodes we watched in 2007.

At 4:45 PM, Raffy came back and bundled our phone line and DSL by using a splitter. At 4:47 PM, BAYAN phone line is working but DSL internet worked for 30 minutes and DSL went dead again. We didn't have internet access again for 45 minutes. After I called Tech Support, Randy and I gave up the internet, moved away from PC and laptop, then watched TV.

Although I don't know whether I should pay the current telephone bill covering 6/13/09 to 7/12/09, I'd like to thank Chris for helping us bundled our phone line and DSL so I have to pay only one monthly bill. I subscribed to BAYAN DSL Plan 2699 on August 02, 2006 but upgraded to Net Basic Plan 1024 on September 11, 2006 in less than a month due to crappy dynamic internet service. Net Basic Plan is bundled with a single phone line but I didn't get the free phone (for two years) for some unknown reason until I applied for a single telephone line on June 05, 2007, after 9 months of waiting to have a bundled phone line from Bayantel.

Today is a very stressful day. Glad Randy is here with us in Manila. 28 hours of no internet access will be too much for me and Randy to be apart that long...

Kat sued Belo et al

Monday, June 08, 2009

Sexy actress Katrina Halili files raps vs Belo, 2 others, for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004...

Now that the case is filed, I'm wishing Katrina will get justice.

It's a shame that we do not have yet the appropriate law that will protect us against cyber crimes. This is the reason why I still pay my bills traditionally in malls, instead of paying online.

49 Today

Saturday, June 06, 2009

I'm 49 years old today.

Mother visited us upon my daughter's request so she could join us in celebrating my birthday.

Mother, Sweetie Pearl, Zhiela and I went to Trinoma Cinema 3 after Randy logged out to bed. We watched Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Jadagrace Berry and Helena Bonham Carter. Watch the trailer here. Movie runs for 1:55 hours.

After the movie, we went straight ahead to Tramway Garden. My best friend, Vera, asked me to try the food there. Junjun, Denise and Tintin followed us there and we had buffet dinner. The food is not as good as what we usually enjoy in Dad's but we had fun. It's my daughter's treat to celebrate my 49th birthday.

my 49th birthday

Many thanks to my daughter for making us and my mother happy...

Happy Trip

Wednesday, January 03, 2007

Today is Day 19 and last day of Randy's fourth visit in Manila.

As I arrived home this evening after I dropped Randy at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Centennial Terminal 2 (NAIACT2), I was so tired and idle. Traffic was terrible and I got home via Manila, instead of the usual EDSA route.

After couple of minutes, Randy called me from Public Pay Phone 028796132 at 6:39 pm. He has the Boarding Pass ready and just waiting for boarding time. He's going to Los Angeles [LAX] via PAL PR112 departed at 2125H and will arrive at 0420H* (Airbus 343). He has about 4 hours transit time at LAX Int'l Airport with connecting flight to San Diego but, he would try the earlier flight home, if he's lucky to get one.

Earlier today, we served big breakfast for the kids before packing all his things while we're voice chatting with his kids (in San Diego) via Skype. After he posted his blog's entry and read some online news, we watched the last two episodes of HOUSE - Season 2: "Who's your Daddy?" and "No Reason". We have seen most of the episodes online in Season 2 few weeks back but, what's funny, we could hardly tell how the episode ended. He wanted to leave DEAD LIKE ME, HOUSE - Season 2, and MEDIUM DVD but, I told him the kids would love to watch the first one while I prefer to watch those episodes with him online. So, the two complete season of DEAD LIKE ME will be my kids' favorite DVD to watch for couple of weeks.

Back to Randy, we had Taco at past 3 pm for lunch. While eating, Pearl handed him a souvenir photo in a native motif frame:

Happy Trip

We tried to shoot a YouTube movie clip but the server wasn't working until it's time for me and Randy to leave. On our way to the airport, we continued recording some movie clips using his Sony Digital Camera and he promised to send me the copies once he arrive home and upload them on YouTube.

Anyway, it's late in the evening here and I have to go to sleep soon but, without Randy around... the plane has departed and I wish Randy a safe, peaceful (no kids crying on board), happy trip...

Happy Trip, Randy

Buffet Dinner at Dad's

Sunday, December 17, 2006

Today is Day 2 of Randy's fourth visit in Manila.

Randy and I had recited the rosary first before going to our buffet breakfast at the hotel's Penthhouse by the pool. We arrived late and all tables had been taken but there is one available under the sun. For less than 30 minutes of sitting under the sun, I had some sunburn on my face and neck! Anyway, the breakfast was good.

We're back to our nest after our breakfast and had a brief nap, as Randy is still adjusting to our local time. Since we have an appointment with the kids later in the afternoon, we got up and we watched more CSI Disc 2, Episodes 205-207: "Scuba Doobie-Doo", "AlterBoys", and "Caged" while waiting for the kids. I had been checking the kids occassionally whether they had been preparing or not.

Junjun, Paul Denise, Pearl, Tintin, and Shiela were waiting downstairs for over 30 minutes at the hotel parking when I remember to call them up again. They had thought we're going downstairs ourselves and calling us had not been an option. Anyway, we hurriedly went down and meet the kids. As the kids welcomed Randy, we handed them their Christmas presents while we're on the way to hear the 5 pm mass. At Sto. Domingo Church, we're happy that the place is big enough to accomodate all of us in one bench.

The first reading was Zephaniah 3:14-18a, the second reading was Philipians 4:4-7, and the Gospel was from Luke 3:10-18. The message the Father put out was about sharing.

After the mass, we went to Dad's Restaurant for Ultimate Buffet Dinner. We have a 6:30 pm reservation for 15 people but we arrived there 30 minutes earlier but, the place was almost full. So while waiting for Edith, Vera, Sherwyn, Delia, and Ate Neth, we started enjoying the Filipino, Japanese, and American dishes. Ate Neth arrived couple of minutes earlier than Vera, Sherwyn, and Delia and as usual, we had fun talking about the latest happenings in Better Living Subdivision, where we once lived for 16 years!

Guess what I found out from Delia about PLDT? They were billed by PLDT for VIBE dialup internet even though no one among her family members are using internet at their home. Also, they were shocked that until to this writing, PLDT does not restore yet the illegal disconnection they made on my phone line.

We're upset that Edith, the manager of Allied Bank, was unable to join us. She's been wanting to meet Randy whenever I talked to her over the phone but, we're surprised she didn't make it again this time. At 9:30 pm, we decided to leave and called it a night. Everyone had a feast, enjoyed the stuffed toys, and the dinner!

Kids dropped us at the hotel and we watched Disc One, NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigation Service: "Yankee White" and "Hung Out To Dry", before retiring for the night.

Superman Returns

Sunday, July 02, 2006

Tomorrow will be Pearl's oral surgery schedule so we decided to relax this Sunday.

Randy went to bed so I can prepare to go to the church but, I had fallen asleep while waiting for the kids to get ready. Daughter woke me up 10 minutes to five and I jumped out of bed. We arrived late again in Our Lady of Hope Parish. We seated in the mezzanine where humidity was higher but, that's where there's available seat for me and the kids.

Rev. Fr. Gilbert Ilagan said the mass. Today was the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The first reading was from Wisdom 1:13-15, 2:23-24. The second reading was from 2 Corinthians 8:7, 9, 13-15. And the Gospel was Mark 5:21-43. This is the second week I didn't receive the communion.

After the church, we had a big dinner at Shakey's Pizza. Kids had fun joking about me and we really had a good time. Then we watched the movie, Superman Returns. The movie had been in the middle portion of the story when we entered inside the cinema. The scene was that the plane had been controlled by some kind of a missile attached above the plane. The sound effects were good but, 3D glasses were not available, similar to the ones in Asia Mall. Randy told me that Superman Returns was anti-American based on their local news but, I didn't see any scenes that will support it other than Superman was in the news all over the world, helping people in different places almost at the same time!

When the movie has ended, we decided to go home instead of watching it again from the beginning. Junjun and Tintin left earlier because they received an urgent call from Tintin's brother who was beaten up by some nasty boys.

Hopefully, watching the movie helps daughter forget for a while about her toothache problems. I was worried too about her oral surgery but, she has to do it once and for all.

Sex Education

Friday, June 16, 2006

I went to bed past 3 in the morning because I watched Debate.

They have an interesting topic: Sino dapat ang magturo ng sex sa kabataan, magulang o guro? (Is sex education the responsibility of parents or teachers?)

Some of their invited guests didn't answer the question intelligent enough. Debate with Mare at Pare about sex education was just timely because the exposure of young teen-agers to sex was very alarming. I voted in their online poll that parents should teach their children something about sex, about their body, and their responsibilities, should they make a mistake that will entirely affect their future.

As for me, sex education does not mean the position your child should know when performing sex, but, kids should know what they should do to take good care of their body and how to avoid temptations. There is right time for sex. Untimely sex could make them sick or worse, ruin their future. With the exposure of kids to the internet and camera phones, sex could happen at the speed of a mouse-click. Daughters should know the risk of pregnancy, likewise, the boys shouldn't take advances of women. Some of the women look innocent but they're disease carriers.

My Paul Denise, 25, got sick twice from an online YM buddy when he eyeballed with them in different times. His condition worsened because he was scared to tell me the truth. I was embarassed to ask questions about his situation because I never gave my parents something like that but, since I am a single parent, I am their father and mother in the household. The second time Denise got sick, Randy was here in Manila and we accompanied my son for checkup. My son promised that he won't do it again.

And because of this experience, I believe parents are the best person to guide their children about sex education. What the kids will learn from school is the anatomy of a human's body but that is not enough to prepare them to be responsible enough to take good care of their body and their future.

If you are young and single, choose your partner in life well. Is he / she worth to be the father / mother of your offspring? Think very carefully before giving in to sexual desires.

Sex is wonderful with the person you love. Do it in the right time, right place, right person.

Jewel In The Palace

Tuesday, June 13, 2006

The Greatest Asian Phenomenon TV Soap Opera, Jewel In the Palace (Korean Title: Dae Jang Geum, translates as "The Great Jang Geum"), has ended this evening.

Telecast over GMA7, Jewel In The Palace is a true story of a court lady in the Royal Kitchen who rose above conspiracies and intrigues to become the first female physician in the Royal Palace of Korea. Starring Lee Young-Ae as Seo Jang Geum as the lead role, Ji Jin-Hee as Min Jung-Ho, Hong Ri-Na as Choi Keum-Young, Gyeon Mi-Ri as Lady Choi, Yang Mi-Kyeong as Lady Han, Ho Im as King Jungjong, Park Jeong-Su as Queen Munjeong, and Yeo Woon-Gye as Lady Jeong.

Jewel In The Palace
Jang Geum with Min Jung-Ho and their daughter when they were brought back
to the palace upon the Empress' order.

Jewel In The Palace
The Empress gave her blessings to the great couple and restores Jang Geum's
and Min Jung-Ho's titles and positions in the palace.

Jewel In The Palace
Jang Geum, known to have a good heart for the poor,
declined the offer of the Empress to stay in the palace.
She had chosen to leave the palace and her friends to fulfill her mission
to serve and cure more people who might need her treatment.

Jewel In The Palace
The story ended in this cave when The Great Jang Geum
saved the new born baby and the mother by operation.
And I had thought, if only they allowed her to perform the operation
while the Emperor was alive, she could have been saved him.

Anyway, I had thought to post the above captured shots in memory of The Great Jang Geum.

Good News?

Saturday, May 27, 2006

I found out from Ate Neth that her husband, Boyet, and her son, Jojo, are leaving soon to Saudi Arabia to work for Prince Sultan Ibn Abdullah.

She said the EX helped her get a good employer for them.

To Catch a Predator

Thursday, May 11, 2006

As usual, we played in Blogshares but when Andika HTO the 4000 shares I held in IlBlog di Beppe Grillo, I stopped playing and watched Deal or No Deal and Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator instead with Randy. Chris Hansen noted in his live blog that:

"It is without a doubt the most elaborate undercover house we’re ever had. 13 hidden cameras record every move our visitors (sex predators) make, from the moment they drive down the street, until they come face to face with me (Hansen) and then, later are arrested by Ft. Myers police after leaving the house."

Wish the local TV network here in the country will do the same coverage to safeguard online teens from being victimized by perverts.

Case II: May 22 Hearing

Thursday, May 04, 2006

As usual, I had oatmeal for breakfast and Randy had Lasagna after we recited the rosary.

We did some Neopets and Blogshares update until we run Yahoo webcam. We watched House's Euphoria, part 2, Dr. Foreman faces death and they put him in a coma to ease the pain. Dr. House discovered contaminated water outside patient's home (who earlier died of unknown disease) as the source of the infection. It wasn't clear what happened with Foreman as he's still paralyzed when the episode ended. Well, we watched Criminal Minds and Law and Order, too, before watching NBC's late night evening news.

When Randy logged out, I received a text message from Atty. R. Case II Hearing Schedule is on May 22nd at 2:40 pm for Collusion Investigation.

In the evening as I was watching the GMA 7's 24 Oras evening news, I heard that three separate fires damaged properties in Metro Manila today. That reminds me about my discussion with Randy before he went to bed, we were discussing about Mina (a.k.a. Shelly), a well-loved index manager in BlogShares. In her blog, a friend noted that, "In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 30th, a massive fire broke out in the family home. Her sons were not in the home, as they were visiting their father. Shelly was home alone, asleep at the time."

We posted earlier a candle in Sage's Mission: Mina where I made a mistake posting my BS profile under that mission. Gladly, Island Dave was online and he removed immediately my profile off the mission page. It was embarassing though but, I had too many windows and tabs open that time and I got distracted which form I pasted my profile. Anyway, I hope Shelley will overcome the difficulties and trials she's having lately... may God bless us all!

So far, am happy that the three cases I filed last February will have it's respective hearings scheduled this month.

Happy Birthday, Denise!

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

First of all, I want to greet my son, Paul Denise, a Happy 25th Birthday!

Early this morning, Randy and I recited the rosary first before eating breakfast. I had oatmeal mixed with chocolait milk while he had Beef Pot Pie with ice cream cone and soda for dinner.

We watched Fox's House today excitedly. Euphoria has two episodes where Dr. Foreman exhibits the same symptoms as thier patient with uncontrollable laughter and tomorrow's episode, the medical team decides whether to perform a brain biopsy on Foreman as he faces death. We watched also CBS's NCIS and NBC's Law and Order Special Victims Unit.

Randy logged out at past three. He knew that we're going to watch M-I-III starring Tom Cruise but Paul Denise was too slow and seemed not interested. We argued a little bit and I almost postponed treating the kids out to a movie. To neutralize my temper, we went instead to SM Bowling Center at 5 p.m. Pearl and Denise teamed up against Junjun and Tintin. They played two rounds but Denise's team won. Only two successful strikes were made by Pearl and Junjun. It was first time for Tintin to play.

I hurriedly asked the kids to eat in the mall because I want to go home before 8:30 in the evening. We're arguing where to eat, whether we will do it in Super Bowl of China, Shakey's Pizza, or Pizza Hut until we passed by in a Family Karaoke. Denise had been asking me to try the place since last year and after knowing the cover charge and room rates per hour, we got our place and I sang one song, kids were too slow selecting their songs. I got 77 score with a note that I can go home, the kids laughed at the message. With a sad face, I stood up and pretended leaving. But, as I went out of the room, I ordered the food but were disappointed with the food and beverages available. Everything I asked were out of stock. I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave but, I didn't like to spoil the evening. As they served the food, kids alternately sang their numbers. We barely noticed we've been there for almost two hours until they informed us whether we like to extend for another hour. We had enough sore throats. Besides, I need to be home before Randy logs in back online.

Kids had fun but, were unhappy with the food and extra charges they added to the bill. To satisfy them, we take out some food from Jollibee before going home. While waiting for a cab, I prayed and wished my Paul Denise a nice future, full awareness about life, and a productive year ahead.

Happy Birthday, Denise!

MIssed Sunday Mass

Sunday, April 02, 2006

Mother had been waking me up for couple of times but, I was too sleepy to get up. Kids had been coming in and out of my room, using my PC, while I was sleeping. Sad to say, I missed hearing today's mass (Fifth Sunday of Lent). Randy promised to blog about it so that I will have an idea about this Sunday's homily.

I'd wished to attend the afternoon mass but, Randy and I watched a comedy movie, 8 Heads In A Duffel Bag (Starring: Kristy Swanson, David Spade, Joe Pesci, George Hamilton, Andy Comeau, Dyan Cannon), until 5 p.m. when my PLDT-DSL connection was restored. In spite of 7,401 miles distance, both Randy and I often watch our favorite TV shows using Yahoo webcam connections. Have you ever tried that yourself?

Anyway, mother left to Ate Neth's house early today. She used to spend the weekend with us. Since I cannot attend the mass alone, I asked Pearl to accompany me instead but, the quick shower and preparations made her available at past 6 pm.

We're late then to hear the evening mass...

Mulawin, The Movie

Wednesday, December 28, 2005

We're supposed to go to Subic and then to Baguio City but the weather forecast was bad so we watched instead Mulawin, The Movie with Mama and the kids.

Mulawin, the movie

We later had merienda at Chowking for a change.

LoveStruck

Wednesday, September 14, 2005

Since three weeks ago, mother told me she wanted to watch Lovestruck. And today, we watched it in SM City North Edsa Cinema 3, along with my sisters, Pacita (who is celebrating her birthday today) and Rosita (who will celebrate her birthday on the 17th); and, Ana (wife of my brother, Egay) and her daughter Trisha.

The movie is a Comedy / Romance, rated GP, directed by Louie Ignacio under GMA Films, starring StarStruck talents: Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Rainier Castillo, Mike Tan, Ryza Cenon, LJ Reyes, CJ Muere, with special participation of Allan K, Keempee De Leon and the movie's Love Guru, Jolina Magdangal.

After watching the movie, we had a little hard time which restaurant to go and what to eat until I decided that we should take noodles, a traditional practice to eat in any birthdays, for long life. Mother suggested Chow King but, I want a different place this time for a change. Super Bowl of China has new dishes to offer and we tried their Birthday Noodles, Hunan Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken Hot Pot, Hunan Tofu Hot Pot, and Yung Chow Fried Rice. We occupied a round table for ten people. Daughter and Arianne later joined us. All of us enjoyed their delicious dishes and I was thankful they do delivery, Tel. No. 7378888.

I was supposed to do some grocery shopping but, it was late for all of us. Mother had fun seeing her daughters get together and I wish there will be more days like this again...kind of SisterStruck!

OST

Thursday, July 28, 2005

More and more Pinoys were asking me if I have the sound tracks of their favorite telenovelas broadcast over GMA7. I found a good site where you can get your favorite Full House, All About Eve, or Stairway to Heaven sound tracks. You may download OST from Faces of the Moon.

And, for Winter Sonata OST mp3 download, visit korean/ost-winter sonata.

Enjoy!

Desperate Housewives

Sunday, March 06, 2005

I enjoyed watching OPRAH on Star World (SkyCable) this evening and their guests this time were the casts of Desperate Housewives. Those stunning women talked about the characters they portrayed and sex was the hottest topic. They prefer more sex over violence on TV though.

And I had thought, I know I consider myself desperate also... so desperate to be a housewife (again). I'm a single parent and played the roles of mother-and-father to my kids but, if I will only be a battered wife like my sister, I would rather choose to be single and be a devoted mother to my kids.

Am I happy? Honestly, not really... and, only time will tell whether I can still have that true happiness which my heart is longing for...

Stairway To Heaven

Wednesday, February 16, 2005

Millions of Filipino people are falling in love once again with this new Korean soap opera, Stairway To Heaven, starring Kwon Sang Woo as Cholo and Choi Ji woo as Jodie/Jenna. As much as possible, I didn't like to post any photos but due to many messages I received lately, I hope these photos I collected for tonight's episode will make all those fans happy.

Krystal created a very nice site for Stairway To Heaven. Please visit the episode guides and synopsis of the story, OST - soundtrack and the The Casts of Stairway To Heaven.

Words by Romer N. Timbreza

(Stanza 1)
Narito ang pag-ibig ko,
Ibibigay nang buong-buo.
Nangangarap nang mag-isa,
Umaasa na makapiling ka.

(Stanza 2)
Narito ang buhay ko,
Nakalaan para sa iyo.
Naghihintay ng pag-asa
Na sana ay iyong madama.

(Chorus)
Langit ka, (at) lupa ako.
Hanggang tanaw na lang ba tayo?
Mahal kita, mahal mo ba ako?
Hanggang pangarap na lang ba ito?
Kaya kong gawin nguni't di kayang sabihin...
Ang pag-ibig ko sana'y mapansin.

(Stanza 3)
Narito ang awit ko,
Ang himig nitong puso.
Naglalarawan ng pagsinta,
Nagbibigay ng sigla't saya.

(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
Ang pagtingin mo't pagmamahal
Damdaming iingatan nang kay tagal.

Paolo B

Saturday, January 22, 2005

Tintin arrived this afternoon to accompany me and Mama for grocery shopping. While shopping, Sweety Pearl text to us her requested stuffs, including adaptor for her CD player. When we're done and about to pay at the counter, two of my cards were declined by their swipe machine. I was embarassed because I was able to use it when I bought circular lamp at SM Workshop an hour ago. Glad Tintin was around and I sent her to get some money from a nearby ATM machine since I had about 5k cash only. When she came back, we settled the bill and left hurriedly. It's about 7 in the evening and she has to go back to Parañaque soon.

As we reached the gate of the building and unload all the stuffs we bought, I was surprised to see Paolo Bediones, a GMA 7 TV personality and host of Extra Challenge (Pinoy Reality-Game Show). I uttered in a loud voice, "Paolo?" He nodded and shoke hands with me. And the rest that I said was, "I didn't know you were handsome in person." He smiled and went out of the building. Paolo was taller than me and has dark skin.

I found out later from the maintenance of the building that the controversial Katherine Luna, who was interviewed today in StarTalk for being 5 months pregnant and rumored that Paolo might be the father of her baby, lives in the same building where we live, as well as Aleya Kintanar.

Anyway, I realized EX is more handsome than Paolo B and thoughts about it made me smile....

Blade Trinity

Saturday, January 08, 2005

Tintin sent SMS message this morning and asked when was Nanay's birthday. When I called her and asked why, she giggled and told me she wants to watch a movie with her. I told her then to come over and I will save some cake for her.

When she arrived, she found out we're not ready yet and there was no birthday cake. We held Mama's birthday last week, January 2nd. Mama, Sweety Pearl and Tintin were pushing me to shut down PC and get ready. Unfortunately, Paul Denise was sleeping soundly so we decided to leave him instead. It took us about 4 hours to get ready and we left the house probably past four in the afternoon.

We went to SM North Edsa and by then I announced I'd like to watch Blade Trinity instead of Mano Po. Sweety Pearl was surprised because we had an earlier agreement to support all Tagalog movies in honor of the late Fernando Poe Jr. But, I told her I want to know what the movie is all about and since I was in charge of the expenses, they got no choice except to follow me to SM Cinema 9.

Blade Trinity is an action/adventure/horror rated-R movie starring Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Parker Posey and directed by David S. Goyer. I was surprised I was not moved nor even thrilled by this movie unlike its predecessor, or maybe because I know there is no vampires and/ or I didn't liked my mother or daughter laughed at me once again after the movie, Sigaw. This trilogy lacks story plot, rushed story to its climax and it's unclear to me why human vampires were not eliminated by biological weapon, too.

After watching the movie, we headed to the supermarket and did some grocery shopping. My mother enjoyed the movie and the shopping but no one would like to eat outside. They were all on diet, except me....

Romance In Paris

Monday, December 13, 2004

While everybody was busy doing their Christmas shopping, I had fallen in love and been crying for three consecutive days.

I watched Romance in Paris (Lovers in Paris, a telenovela series in ABS-CBN Channel 2). It's a 20 episode Korean soap opera starring Park Sin Yang (President Han Ki-joo, rich businessman living in Paris), Kim Jeong Eun (Kang Tae-young, poor girl living in Paris), and Lee Dong Geon (drummer boy Yoon Soo-hyuk, nephew of Ki-joo), in Korean version but written in english. It was not my intention to watch last Friday since I was busy trading on BlogShares but Romance in Paris reminded me of how my parents loved each other in spite of total rejection by the Chinese Family of my father.

Romance in Paris

My interest to follow the story made me shed lots of tears which gave me severe headache and eyebags later when I finished the last episode. I was dismayed the whole story was written only from the imagination of a part-time maid (Kim Jeong Eun) using the laptop of her employer (Park Sin Yang), whom she later met personally in a street accident (which incident was a bit similar in the beginning of her story). President Han Ki-joo was a wealthy businessman who didn't know how to express his feelings OR, maybe all rich men are like that?

Korean soap operas indeed captured the hearts of millions of Filipinos but I have noticed that they were not good at ending their stories. Should they end the said story in a more meaningful way, maybe I'll keep thinking about it for a long time.

Very Touching Scene

Friday, January 23, 2004

I was in tears while watching the Winter Sonata soap opera (telenovela) this evening. My kids were laughing at me for being so emotional. I would get mad with the writer if Janice didn't see Joseph inside the airport...

Whatever happens in the next episode, SPCNet Reviews knew that it has a sad ending but, I'd like to follow it's nightly episode, it's where the thrill is...

Winter Sonata Photo Blog

Tuesday, January 20, 2004

Endless Love II Photo Blog - A Winter Sonata Collection is up and successfully running now but, it uses so much bandwith considering that I recently upgraded my Plan ten days ago and looks like I need to upgrade again.

To limit bandwith sharing, I turned on hotlink protection and to those who are complaining why my links are not working, you have probably installed the links directly on your site.

My ladylaila.net/blog, by the way, is now one month old today and thank you for being a part of this blog!

Endless Love II Update

Sunday, January 18, 2004

Due to couple of mails I received from Endless Love II - Winter Sonata fanatics, I decided to separate a blog for it and have created a photoblog yesterday entitled A Winter Sonata Collection. I still have to edit its templates and resolve some code issues as it conflicts with this blog (I think).

Here is the lnik - www.ladylaila.net/winter_sonata - and hope you will be patient enough and don't flood me with complaints if some files are not working properly. Just try to refresh/reload the page and if things didn't work, then let me know what page is not working, ok?

For now, enjoy and have fun....

Endless Love II - Winter Sonata

Thursday, December 11, 2003

Endless Love II - Winter Sonata is another hit in Philippines' Chinoy Tele-novela series. Starring Choi Ji Woo (as Yu Jin) & Bae Yong Joon (as Joon Sang/Min Hyung), both effectively played their roles with their sparkling chemistry. This tele-novela is being aired over GMA 7, between 8:00-8:30 in the evening, Mondays thru Fridays. It has been well reviewed at SPCNET Reviews and its official Korean website is at drama.kbs.co.kr/winter and its english version is at wintersonata.com.

My eldest son composed me a ringing tone of Winter Sonata with a bonus of midi version of 'From The Beginning 'Til Now' from my daughter and I believe this is the complete Tagalog lyrics of GMA's Winter Sonata Tele-novela theme song:

Inspired by this background midi, I have finally added GeoURL on this page! There's a lot of things to learn, i.e. Understanding XML and RSS 2.0 specs. I'll probably shift to MT real soon, once I familiarize myself well with this blogging stuffs.
