Firefox 3.5Friday, July 03, 2009Randy and I upgraded our Firefox browser to version 3.5. Several times FF crashed whenever we're running TW scripts. It's too late for us to reverse what we have done. In the meantime, Randy baked two loaves of bread and Devil's Food Cake. We served the dinner late waiting for my daughter to eat with us but she seemed busy with her magazine launching. We watched couple of CSI episodes in DVD to keep my mind off from things that will just hurt my feelings. I had chest pain lately.

28 Hours No InternetWednesday, June 24, 2009Randy and I woke up early so we can go to the bank at 9 AM. Unfortunately, we couldn't leave until Bayan DSL contractors showed up. At noon, some linemen from ADTEL came and yet, they annoyed me to the max! They said, the service order to transfer our phone line and DSL were wrong. They said someone else, not them, should fix our line. Still annoyed, I called Bayan Hotline 4112000 and Anne answered my queries. I also talked with Vince Dimaculangan, Anne's supervisor, and informed them about the ADTEL boys who came over our place. After an hour, Lumen Cruz (Tel. No. 4498046), a Bayan Account Manager called up and tried to know my DSL concern. I told her more than 26 hours now we do not have internet. Then, Raffy aka Rafael F. Chavez, another ADTEL guy came over at 3 PM. He checked both DSL and phone line and left. I wanted to call Bayan Hotline again but I found out our phone line has no dial tone. I sent SMS to Bayan 09178932189 to inform them we have dead DSL and phone line. In between these BAYANTEL drama, Randy and I were watching the continuation of Season 1 of CSI. Oh! Well... funny how both of us forgot those episodes we watched in 2007. At 4:45 PM, Raffy came back and bundled our phone line and DSL by using a splitter. At 4:47 PM, BAYAN phone line is working but DSL internet worked for 30 minutes and DSL went dead again. We didn't have internet access again for 45 minutes. After I called Tech Support, Randy and I gave up the internet, moved away from PC and laptop, then watched TV. Although I don't know whether I should pay the current telephone bill covering 6/13/09 to 7/12/09, I'd like to thank Chris for helping us bundled our phone line and DSL so I have to pay only one monthly bill. I subscribed to BAYAN DSL Plan 2699 on August 02, 2006 but upgraded to Net Basic Plan 1024 on September 11, 2006 in less than a month due to crappy dynamic internet service. Net Basic Plan is bundled with a single phone line but I didn't get the free phone (for two years) for some unknown reason until I applied for a single telephone line on June 05, 2007, after 9 months of waiting to have a bundled phone line from Bayantel. Today is a very stressful day. Glad Randy is here with us in Manila. 28 hours of no internet access will be too much for me and Randy to be apart that long...

No InternetTuesday, June 23, 2009Glad that Randy and I claimed our planets in Unification Wars game and stored our packets in Tribal Wars before our BAYAN DSL went dead at past 1:00 in the afternoon. We called several times to Bayan 4112000 to reset our DSL connection but unfortunately, they couldn't detect our modem anymore. A Service Order to transfer our DSL has been dispatched and we were advised to wait for field technician. As Chris promised us when we met him at Team Bayan Forum First Eyeball, he will help us bundle our phone line with DSL. Unfortunately, no one showed up today to fix our internet cable. Typhoon Ferie will be passing Metro Manila estimated at 9 PM and currently under signal no. 1 alert. Randy and I had been moving the clothes in and out to keep them from getting wet. Since the Bl@st Prepaid Internet card we bought ran out of load, there is no way for us to login online and store again our packets before retiring to bed. Although furious with Bayan DSL, we took advantage of the situation and we started watching Season 1 of CSI on DVD.

Quiet DayMonday, June 22, 2009Randy and I were supposed to go to the bank but due to bad weather, we decided to stay home and watched more DVD movies. Since our Bayan DSL went down couple of times, it's quite annoying to call Bayan tech support and asked them to reset our connection to their server. Kids were furious about the internet's intermittent connection and they watched HBO movies instead.

Happy Fathers DaySunday, June 21, 2009Randy and I hurriedly attended the 7 AM Sunday mass at Sto. Cristo Chapel. The homily was about Faith and Fear, in relation with the Father's Day celebration today. After the mass, we went to McDonalds and had our breakfast. We brought some breakfast for the kids, too. Pearl and Mama visited us in the afternoon. She brought her WII toy and we had fun with its games. We served Spanish Rice, Grilled Pork Steak with corn as side dish for dinner. Dinner was good. We barely have space for fruit salad and ice cream. Junjun presented their surprise gift to Randy, a Maong Jacket! Everyone had a wonderful time... Happy Father's Day to all! Meanwhile, Bayantel contractors replaced wet DSL cable to improve internet performance. ![]()

Bayan Red Hot PartyFriday, June 19, 2009The most awaited Bayan Forum First Eyeball: Bayan Red Hot Party turned to be a success although we didn't win any prizes! We lost our way to Congo Grille but, we managed to get there at 8:00 PM when my eldest son instructed me where it was actually located. It was unfortunate I forgot to write down the complete address and the driver didn't know exactly the location of the venue. ![]() Randy with gorgeous ladies hired by Bayan to entertain us ![]() I forgot to get the name of these girls Many thanks to the hospitality of Jojo (Marketing), Chris (Network), Freya (Accounts), Mikos (Bayan Forum Mod), NoTroubleFound (Bayan Forum Mod). People, food, and drinks were great! As you promised that you will look into the status of our internet connection, I just hope you will keep your words... In the meantime, more pictures will be posted later...

Laundry DayWednesday, June 17, 2009Randy and I did couple of laundry rounds in spite of bad weather. Whenever there's heavy downpour of rain, we went out to the balcony and move the clothes to a much safer place. Strong winds short circuited one of the newly installed light post that I had to call MERALCO HOTLINE 16211 in fear of power failure in our area, should a nearby transformer exploded. In less than 30 minutes, MERALCO Field Electrician came over and fixed the problem. In between our online activities, BAYAN DSL kept disconnected and I was furious that I had to call 4112000 to beg them to reset my internet connection in order to access the internet again. What's unfair, I am hooked up to a business plan but the residential 899 plan and my plan get the same bandwidth speed.

Ripped OffFriday, October 05, 2007I found something interesting on the Bayan Supports NTC’s (National Telecommunications Commission’s mandate under E.O. 546, Act 3846, E.O 436, R.A. 7925) Consumer Protection Guidelines article, it says, "In the Bayan rebate program, if a Bayan landline remains un-repaired for more than 24-hours, P100 will be given for every day the problem stays unsolved. For bayanDSL, a rebate of P500/day is given." Duh?!? Since two months ago, I had been suffering from slow bandwidth connection and two days I had zero internet but I never received any rebates, not a single cent, from BayanDSL! Today marks the 10th day of BayanDSL nightmare: I called Bayantel hotline 4112000 and Tanny Joy Tamondong told me someone came over at our place at 9 am this morning and according to the report, we refused them to repair our DSL connection and they closed Complaint Ticket # 1016233. Both Randy and I were shocked because we're eating breakfast with Junjun and Tintin from 8:55 am until 9:30 am! No one dings our buzzer nor call us by phone! I tried to get the name of the lineman who lodged the refusal report but she doesn't want to tell me. So, what is this statement all about: "Each customer is our priority client. We understand that staying loyal is completely their choice. But the difference is that we will make it our business to make sure we stay loyal to them,” says Chief Executive Consultant for Bayan Telecommunications, Tunde Fafunwa." I am BayanDSL NetBasic Plan subscriber paying Php 3,360 monthly for a business plan in a residential area so I could get a guaranteed 1 mbps continuous bandwidth speed but, unfortunately, I kept getting poor bandwidth speed between 4 kbps and 135 kbps everyday. In short, BayanDSL is providing me a 384 Kbps bandwidth speed available to Plan 899 subscribers only! After the linemen left, I checked my bandwidth and I got this ready: "Your current bandwidth reading is: 77.66240 kbps, which means you can download at 9.71000 KB/sec." What a ripped off...

Fed Up with BayanDSLThursday, October 04, 2007Randy and I didn't go anywhere today. A Bayantel lineman came over in the morning and tested our connection using their bandwidth checker that doesn't tell the actual bandwidth speed: "Your download speed is: 988.49 kbps." Huh? If that is my actual bandwidth speed, how come I cannot open any sites, and most of the time, pages were timing out? The lineman hooked up directly the dsl cable unto his laptop but just the same, he got poor bandwidth reading. He was not done yet pinging the network when his laptop battery went dead. He wanted to use Randy's laptop to continue the test but I told him several times the physical connections had been checked and it turned okay. Either the problem was from their cabinet or network port. The BayanDSL box where my DSL cable was hooked up has a pending legal case VS a homeowner who filed charges against BayanDSL for failure to comply with the agreement. BayanDSL pays millions in pesos to property owners who entered into agreement with the ISP to build their cabinet inside their property line. When another cabinet was added, on top of the first cabinet, the homeowner filed a complaint and sue BayanDSL in court, and that's how my internet nightmares started. Legal cases in the Philippines takes several years before it will be resolved. Being a BayanDSL Net Basic business plan subscriber, why nvolved me and the rest of the subscribers in that legal case by keeping my internet connection hooked up in that questionable cabinet? I subscribed to a stable 1 mbps plan at Php 3,360 monthly rate... why give me a bandwidth speed ideal for 384 kbps subscribers only, who pays Php 899 a month? Earlier, I had this reading: "Your current bandwidth reading is: 19.11840 kbps, which means you can download at 2.39000 KB/sec." My God, this is worst than dial-up! Randy is pissed off with my internet connection and I am fed up calling BayanDSL hotline 4112000 to remind them I am subscribed to a business plan in a residential area... thankfully, I didn't have a cyber cafe business, otherwise, I will be out of business... Today is the 9th day of my BayanDSL nightmare, NTC, please help meeeeee!!!

DSL is backFriday, August 24, 2007![]() At 9:30 am, Bayantel DSL lineman arrived to our place, while Randy and I were chatting. In spite of tough assurance that the problem wasn't on our side, the kids advised me to let the guy pull out my workstation and checked all wirings. Then, the guy left and told us he will check physical lines outside the building. At 11:43 am, two linemen arrived with their tools. They clipped their detector to DSL cable and off they went downstairs. I went to the balcony and took pictures of what they were doing. In case, they made mistakes, I have evidence. Well, I had bad experiences with Bayantel guys working on phone lines and cables. I was still then a PLDT DSL subscriber when one of their guys cut off my line and erased PLDT name off the box and steal it. Three days I didn't have internet and phone line that time. I found out only about it when PLDT lineman showed me that a Bayantel phone line was hooked up in my PLDT box! Anyway, at 12:09 pm. our DSL line is back. I dropped my dialup internet access and ran Skype. Randy and I voice chatted and able to pray again. I can barely remember, though, what have caused the interruption of DSL service... and, whether I will get rebates for the inconvenience or not, I still have to call their accounting department.

Still on dialupThursday, August 23, 2007This is the Third day of my Bayantel DSL nightmare and what's worst, Bayantel tech support said their service has been restored since yesterday morning.... Someone from Bayantel dropped by at 11:00 am in our place but he just stared at the modem and left. He said he will be back later and will just check the cabinet where my DSL cable is hooked up. Randy and I missed our usual prayers because Skype failed to run on a dialup internet connection. I found out later from tech support that the Bayantel cabinet where all DSL and phone lines are hooked up in my area has a pending case and it's locked until case is resolved. They will send someone again tomorrow morning to check physical lines. In the meantime, kids and I are thinking of moving somewhere else IF our DSL broadband service won't be restored.

No Bayantel DSL AccessWednesday, August 22, 2007This is the second day of my Bayantel DSL nightmare. Yesterday, they admitted having outage of Major International Cable Facilities which started at 9:00 am. At 7:00 pm, I couldn't browse international sites anymore which continued until I logged out at 12 mn. This morning, my internet connection partially improved until Randy logged out to bed at past 2:00 pm. I had an afternoon nap then and woke up at 6:00 pm. To my surprise, our modem didn't have DSL and Internet status on, except Power and Router, which means our DSL access is totally dead. As expected, their hotline 4112000 was busy and my call get through only at past 7:00 pm. I reported the matter but the ticket 313303 from yesterday's complaint is still active and they cannot make a new ticket report until the other complaint of slow connection is resolved. My goodness, so how the records will show that I didn't have DSL? Tech Support promised that a field technician will check our DSL line by tomorrow. Randy and I chatted briefly on Skype via BL@ST prepaid dialup internet access, but were unable to pray the rosary. It's kind of annoying experience knowing I paid Php 3,360 (US$78.00) monthly for a Business Net Basic DSL plan to ensure guaranteed uninterrupted DSL service. I feel cheated when my friends online have a faster connections than mine and they are Globe subscribers paying less than 1k a month. Lack of competition in the internet industry made local internet providers get away with their lousy services. PLDT owed me some rebates for the DSL and phoneline, I pray that NTC will do their jobs in monitoring the quality service of top ISPs. Anyway, enough of that DSL thingy, today is my brother's 36th birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EGAY!!!

Bayantel International Link Is DownTuesday, August 21, 2007I was upset that Randy and I failed to recite the rosary this evening before he left to work due to Bayantel DSL's Outage of Major International Cable Facilities which started at 9:00 am. My modem resets its connection at 9:00 am, and that's how my internet nightmare started. Good thing that Skype was working until he logged off to bed at 2:40 pm. I could barely open pages, browser had an error: "The connection has timed out. The server at uc3.gamestotal.com is taking too long to respond." Worst thing happened at 7:00 pm before Randy comes online. I couldn't browse any more and I couldn't logout from UC either to refresh connections. Even messages in Yahoo had delays. But, at least, I was able to let Randy know that internet is not back up yet. Before giving up waiting for some bandwidth at past 11:00 pm, I tried inquirer.net and my blog's MT Editor. It looks like I can access local sites so I read news while trying to access UC. Unfortunately, while blogging, I accidentally clicked something and next thing I know, when page reloaded, my entry was gone. Anyway, there is something interesting that caught my eyes: British, wife lose P50K in Equitable-PCI’s online banking. In the news, Neil Honeyman and his wife, who reside in Bacolod City, said that P50,000 was fraudulently withdrawn from their bank while making phone banking transaction last August 16. The bank refunded the money but it was not mentioned who did it and which account the money has been transferred. I have reason to be alarmed. Randy sends his XOOM remittances to my Equitable PCI Bank account and I monitor transactions via FASTNET online. In December 2006, I had lost Php 10,000 while taking some money from my Equitable PCI Bank ATM, using ChinaBank ATM machine at SM North EDSA. I was charged for unsuccessful transaction. I reported the matter to EPCIB. Then, I followed it up via mobile calls but nothing has happened yet. When Randy was here in Manila, we both dropped by to the bank and made a followup. They only returned/deposited the money into my account after 3 weeks of waiting. Shiela, my daughter's friend, mentioned that her Aunt had a similar ATM experience with EPCIB. Guess my bank have a lot of depositors and cannot handle loads of transactions. Anyway, I am tired and it looks like Bayantel DSL will not be restored until midnight.... Tech Support did not mention whether it's Asia-Pacific Cable Network (APCN) or GPT, AGC, C2C, SEMEWE3 which caused all Bayantel subscribers internet disruptions.

Both IllSaturday, January 20, 2007Randy and I are somewhat ill. He catch a bad cold. It's very cold in his place, San Diego, while it's hot and humid here in Metro Manila. He has to use heater and I have to run a/c most of the time to avoid coughing when exposed to warm air. Anyway, our voice chat early today was also interrupted by network reset. When Randy logged out early to sleep, Junjun fixed our network connections. So far, while I'm waiting for Randy to come online this evening, my browser has not been reset yet since my son did something with our local assigned IP addresses. It appears that whenever one of us login, any active connections are reset. And the only way we could get back the browser running is to shut it down and turn off the modem and router. Well, I hope we don't have to send the router back to Tommy. Meanwhile, Paul Denise bought me Robitussin for my cough. I sent him to get me a Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup but it's not available in Mercury Drug, kind of out of stock. I'm waiting for Randy to come online before taking the medication, or I might fall asleep and won't be able to recite the rosary. I was just upset, knowing he's sick and I couldn't do anything to make him feel better. Please get well soon, Randy!

New RouterFriday, January 19, 2007Since we had our new phone last Sunday, our SKYDSL's broadband internet had been often reset by system network, which could be the router... I called Bayantel Hotline 4112000 several times at past 1 in the morning and she made a report ticket. Their tech support is better than PLDT myDSL. They seemed to know what I was talking about and they sent me their technician late this morning as promised but, we told the guy to come back next time. I was wondering whether the problem is our 15 month old D-Link Broadband Router. Paul Denise's assigned port was blinking even though his PC was off. To be sure, I disconnected the cable both from his PC and router but, it's blinking in spite of unplugged port. When I woke up this morning, I immediately called Tommy of Starapple Computers. He sent Alex and he installed Wireless - G Linksys Broadband Router and configured our PCs. Pearl can now enjoy a wireless internet connection using her Dell Notebook. It cost me Php 4,760.00 for the router and installation service but, at least, voice chatting with Randy won't be interrupted again due to router problem which caused us inconvenience for couple of days.

Rebates PleaseWednesday, November 22, 2006![]() I submitted today demand letter addressed to PLDT - Muñoz Branch asking for rebates for failure to deliver PLDT DSL and phone line services... all clerks abandoned their posts and had an emergency meeting with their supervisor to discuss my claim.

Static IP AddressTuesday, September 12, 2006Our Sky DSL Plan 2699 had been adjusted to Business NetBasic at 11:02 am this morning. After 30 minutes, they called us and gave us the assigned IP address. I called their hotline 4112000 for the DNS server IP address. I asked for the remaining three IP address bundled with our plan but they said, I only asked for plan upgrade and that I have to submit a written request for it. We didn't go to their office this afternoon because we observed first how stable our internet connection. Although the subscribed bandwidth is up to 1024 kbps only, I would rather have an average broadband speed yet stable rather than enjoy a 2 mbps one but our DSL connection dropped every minute. Yeah, right. We don't have yet world class quality broadband internet service in this country. This is what am beginning to understand...

I hate my ISPTuesday, May 30, 2006Hatred is a sin but what can I do? There is nothing annoying than paying a PLDT DSL Subscription Plan myDSL XCEL with a promise of 2 mbps bandwidth speed upgrade and I didn't get it, and worse, since my account had been upgraded last 19th of this month, my agony with my DSL broadband internet started. Who will believe that my bandwidth speed was only 4 kbps most of the time, just enough to connect me to Yahoo chat? I cannot retrieve my mails nor browse pages without using PLDT VIBE dialup internet. PLDT DSL has been a nightmare to all its affected subscribers! Meanwhile, due to bad internet connection, I was unable to collect my Neopets freebies and Neobank interests. Also, I failed to buy ideas in Blogshares and carry out my usual trading in the shares market. Hopelessly staring at the monitor screen hoping DSL bandwidth speed will restore its normal speed I paid for, I created »-(¯`v* NEAT Strategies *v´¯)-», a Blogshares corporation I founded to recruit BS players who wish to team up with good players who want nothing but a neat gaming strategies without hurting other players. Loading pages had been a painful task but, I managed to add it to the corporations founded by other BS players. Am waiting for Randy to come online, and he will be upset again since we cannot use SKYPE to voice chat with each other. I missed watching Deal or No Deal this afternoon because PLDT DSL is a Deteriorated Subscriber Line.

PinoyDSLWednesday, May 24, 2006I logged in using dial up internet early in the morning so that Randy and I can recite the rosary online before our connections deteriorated due to more number of people coming online. Curious what's going on with DSL subsribers, I googled PLDT DSL keyword and I found interesting links and stories. I also registered with PinoyDSL.Net this morning, a Philippine DSL Network Forum which is maintained by several DSL subsribers. The site is designed for Philippine DSL users and subscribers with the idea of helping fellow DSL users with DSL problems, questions and optimize its usage to the fullest SINCE my ISP, PLDT DSL, neglected their subscribers to provide uninterrupted broadband internet service. Based on what other subscribers' experiences posted in the forum, accounts and passwords were sold by some PLDT DSL crews. It's alarming and made me worried that someone had been using my DSL account and password this is why my connection dropped to 4 kbps or was it the PLDT Data Center really had technical trouble with their network? Besides, I have doubts that the best skilled engineers had been deployed outside the country and the less skilled people are the ones working for local companies. Six days of no internet access means denial of service... What's funny with the PLDT DSL ads, it says "At Rocket speeds, PLDT DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) gives you fast and reliable 'always-on' connectivity. Guess they should re-edit their site and rephrase rocket speed with zero speed. In fact, their 172 Hotline was busy all the time and I'm at lost whether to get a new DSL from Bayantel or stick with PLDT who failed to give me DSL broadband internet service for six days now? Rowela is waiting for my call so they can pick up the Application Form she sent last Monday through LBC. Only in the Philippines this is happening... I sent a complaint through email addressed to NTC but, I was wondering whether they will consider it or just send my email to trash folder. Media is our last hope.

Dead PLDT DSLTuesday, May 23, 2006My communication with Randy had been affected severely because of my ISP problem. I cannot even play in Blogshares and Neopets, too, and I had lost opportunity to gain some B$ and neopoints this evening. PLDT DSL's hotline has been busy continually and I am at a loss on whether to get a new DSL service from Bayantel or stay with PLDT, even though they have failed to give me the service they promised for five days now. I already talked to the owner of the building. Since each unit was provided with a single phone line conduit, I will have to buy the telephone cable myself if I subscribe to another phone company, Bayantel. We already established our contact telephone number and we wouldn't give it up, just the DSL, if possible. Meanwhile, Randy told me an alarming news before he logged out to work. He said that the Veterans Administration reported that one employee decided to take home a bunch of disks for a project he or she was working on and had them stolen in a home robbery. Randy was worried that all his personal informations, including security number, benifits, and credit card details will be stolen or sold. And as soon as Randy logged out, my PLDT DSL broadband internet turned totally dead, and it affects nationwide subscribers now! Kids were bored and played PS2 games instead after I sang few karaoke songs. Ah! Mother never told me there will be uneasy days like these...

Up to 2 mbps?Saturday, May 20, 2006I used PLDT VIBE dialup internet early this morning to recite the rosary with Randy since we cannot talk well on SKYPE using my PLDT DSL broadband internet. Furious with interrupted chat with him, I called PLDT 171 and found out from Edna that my account has been upgraded yesterday morning up to 2 mbps EXACTLY the same time my internet agony started. Based on my email transactions, I sent them three emails today at 8:43 AM, 12:48 PM, and 9:37 PM just to let them know I was on PLDT VIBE dialup internet because my DSL internet speed was only 4 kbps. I was sure that their Data Center made a mistake and they promised to send a technician to us tomorrow. Ate Neth referred me to Rowela of Bayantel. Rowela said she will send me the Application Form for DSL internet. It will cost me PHP 1,999 for installation fee and PHP 3,000 monthly for both 1.5 mbps DSL internet and phone charges. Randy was upset and had been wishing I could have the same speed of his internet as I had been complaining I couldn't do anything with the blogs' shares I held even I know someone was trying to slump its price before HTO. I cannot retrieve my emails, cannot run skype in the evening and I was wondering what's going on with PLDT DSL and how many subscribers are currently suffering like me.

LAN InstalledSaturday, November 05, 2005Many thanks to Tommy Reyes, MCS Branch Manager of Starapple Computers, and his Boss, Billy Samson, for the router discount and immediate LAN installation connecting our two PCs at home. Randolf, their technician, did a great job! My sister, Rosita, who moved in Cavite last month had local area connection in her house using Globelines DSL Broadband. She was the one who did the router configuration and encouraged us lately to do the same. The scheduled installation was postponed in the morning because we had power interruption as early as 7 o'clock in the morning until 2 o'clock in the afternoon due to MERALCO on-going transformer repair few blocks away from the building where we live. It was unfortunate that it happened in the middle of hot weather. Whenever there is power failure, we didn't have water supply as well. Neighbors who are Bayantel subscribers were complaining that their phones had no dial tone. Can you imagine the inconveniences we're suffering if we had no electricity? At 1:30 p.m., I inquired in a nearby store/eatery by phone if they have any idea when the power will be restored, I was told that MERALCO men informed them that power will be restored hopefully at 2 pm. I called my son, Paul Denise, from the house of my sister that he can go home then. I sent him there to charge my cell phone. We had an earlier agreement that I would pick him up and we will go together to the mall to eat Chow King Halu-halo. Then, I also informed Tommy that they can send in their technician to do the installation because I promised my son that we will have today a local network connection. I know I should have done this since last year but, I want my kids to concentrate well in their studies. Now, my son has no valid reason anymore to use my PC because they have their DSL internet access, too. Google AdSenseFriday, May 06, 2005Many have done it in the past, so why can't I? Google is now added in my sidebar. Some concerned netizens told me positive feedback about adding it on their blog so here I am... better late than never, yeah? :-) Slow ConnectionFriday, April 08, 2005For the record, I sent PLDT Customer Support this message last night: Subject: SLOW CONNECTION I wonder why my connection is slower than dialup the whole day today? May I know what is going on? Your Hotline 172375 was too busy to accomodate calls. I didn't like to think we, subscribers, were denied with 24/7 Technical Support... Please reply. Laila* For which I received a reply this morning: Dear Ms. Laila*, This acknowledges your message regarding your MyDSL connection. First, we apologize for the inconvenience you encountered in the use of our service and for having a hard time getting through our hotline. To date, we would like to inform you that we have forwarded the problem to the concerned group. Rest assured that this will be handled accordingly and will be given attention. Our team from rbgdsl_helpdesk@pldt.com.ph will update you anytime for any feedback on the problem you elevated to us. Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. Respectfully yours, Ms. BheLLe RaNCe OrDOña PLDT Customer Care DSL Technical ProblemMonday, March 28, 2005Each time there is DSL internet service interruption and there is no way to connect to the internet nor inform PLDT DSL technical people that I didn't have internet access by calling their busy 172375 direct line, I couldn't help but feel they were cheating all their subscribers by not providing a 24/7 Technical Assistance. Any ISPs nationwide provide Technical Support, be it post-paid or prepaid internet. Only PLDT DSL breaks this protocol. What's worst, they won't e-mail us the reason why the sudden service interruption occurred. And I am not really happy about this. Infocom handled 24/7 Technical problems before satisfactorily. Why PLDT had taken over Infocom Technical Support and 173 was accessible only during working hours. While 172375 is now available, we couldn't get through this hotline number whenever we had internet interruption problems. Even their website was inaccessible. How can I log a complaint ticket? Also, I feel we were deceived with a promise of improved bandwidth speed instead of reducing broadband rates. I cannot express well how disappointed I am right now. Can you imagine how it feels like to blog using a dial-up? Receiving Online GiftsTuesday, December 07, 2004I'm fond of thoughtful and generous people. It's nice to receive gifts even when there is no special occasion but, did you know that receiving gifts online is very risky? It surprises me when someone from PinasGift.com told me that anonymous GIFT SENDER sometimes use stolen credit card numbers to send gifts. And, later on, the recipient will be charged for the gift because they received the item, based on laws allegedly implemented by VISA and Master Cards. I was told that there are lot of cases pending at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and lot of recipients even now in jail because they couldn't tell who the (online) senders were and how they got the gifts! Well? It's Christmas time once again but be careful on accepting gifts online from people you do not really know. What's bothering me now is, how about those people who bid at eBay's auctions? One Million EurosWednesday, October 20, 2004Looks like I have now a pocket money in case I will win the trip to Thailand or Singapore. I received an e-mail that I won One Million Euros in SPONSOR BINGO LOTERIJ INTERNATIONAL with subject line: SPONSOR LOTERIJ WINNE PRIJZEN. It says: Ref.IMFD Nnumbe: 042/576/577/SD The above e-mail is unedited to preserve its contents. Then, I googled the subject line and I got some links that connect the mail to Nigerian E-mail Scams. It's wonderful to have One Million Euros, I can send my children to the USA to continue their college education there and I can visit the apparition sites of Mama Mary but, unfortunately, who got the money these days to give away in the guise of lotteries? I know I didn't join any, so, why should I win? The e-mail was long and I didn't like to bore my friends to read the full details but, if you insist, here is the link to the exact copy of the e-mail notification I received. |
