49 TodaySaturday, June 06, 2009I'm 49 years old today. Mother visited us upon my daughter's request so she could join us in celebrating my birthday. Mother, Sweetie Pearl, Zhiela and I went to Trinoma Cinema 3 after Randy logged out to bed. We watched Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Jadagrace Berry and Helena Bonham Carter. Watch the trailer here. Movie runs for 1:55 hours. After the movie, we went straight ahead to Tramway Garden. My best friend, Vera, asked me to try the food there. Junjun, Denise and Tintin followed us there and we had buffet dinner. The food is not as good as what we usually enjoy in Dad's but we had fun. It's my daughter's treat to celebrate my 49th birthday. ![]() Many thanks to my daughter for making us and my mother happy...

Merry Christmas 2008The BurialTuesday, October 03, 2006Egay and his family picked us up early this morning. We bought some juices and medicine for Ericson's stomach upset on our way to St. Peter's Funeral Home. ![]() We arrived there at Room F at 8 am this morning. Rev. Fr. Oscar Avelino held the mass. Alex's Room was in order and the kitchen had been cleaned up earlier. When the mass ended, Rev. Fr. Avelino blessed Alex and family members had been all very emotional. ![]() At Forest Park Memorial, my brother's family were all in tears and very emotional. In our hearts, it's hard to accept Alex is gone and this will be the last time we're going to look at her angelic face. ![]() More family members, friends, and relatives on both sides kept coming to pay last respect for Alex. Alexandra was buried at 10:30 am. I'd like to thank Randy for his generosity and full support to my family. Meanwhile, Randy had root implant and was unable to sleep until past 10 this evening Manila time due to severe pain. He's supposed to go to bed at 12 MN San Diego time (3 pm Manila time) but, he reamained awake until I had fallen asleep while chatting with him. Randy posted also some news from Save the Children. Please check them out!

Happy Mother's Day!Sunday, May 08, 2005To all mothers online, Happy Mother's Day! And, to those guys out there, please do not forget to greet your wife and mother. Show them how much you love and care for them. I met my sisters this afternoon for lunch and celebrate this special day with our dearest mother, (Nanay, to her grandchildren). Pearl, Tintin (wife of my son), Trixia and her mother, Ana (wife of my brother Egay) joined us, as well. Nasser wants to join us as proxy of his wife who is currently on a Baptismal party but, I told him the lunch was exclusively for all mothers only. ![]() Photo was blurry, taken from a cellphone camera only. We had special time with mother and sisters in Chow King Fast Food. I love their Lauriat Sweet and Sour. We had Halu-halo as desert. Chow King had given us 3 'Songs For Mothers' CDs (12 selected love songs) as their complimentary give-aways on Mother's Day. We all had fun.

Happy Birthday, Paul DeniseTuesday, May 03, 2005Today is my son's 24th birthday. His birthday celebration wasn't complete because his GF went for taping in Bulacan. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Paul Denise. Charles and CamillaSunday, April 10, 2005BBC: "Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have married at Windsor's Guildhall." Camilla serves as an inspiration. Maybe I still have a chance to have that special someone, too, who will come along and loves me with all his heart and sincerity... Want to join Valentine Parties happening on February 12, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. in four key cities: Happy Birthday, Nanay!Sunday, January 02, 2005Mama (or Nanay as her grandchildren called her) is 68 years old today. Since Mama would like to treat VJ to a movie, we watched this afternoon Mars Ravelo's Lastikman - Unang Banat, another official entry to Metro Manila Film Festival 2004, starring ADRIAN ROSALES / LASTIKMAN (Mark Bautista), LARA MANUEL (Sarah Geronimo), ALFONSO (John Estrada), REDEN ( Danilo Barrios), and LASTIKA/EDITA (Ms. Cherrie Gil). VJ is my nephew who is the only child of my brother, Nasser, to his wife, Jane. It was first time for VJ to enter a movie house and both my nephew and my mother enjoyed the movie, talking and discussing while watching. Glad Paul Denise was with us to scold the two for being too noisy. After the movie, we bought a Goldilocks round chocolate cake for Mama and we had our dinner at home, since Sweety Pearl didn't join us due to an illness. To my dearest mother, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Merry Christmas!Friday, December 24, 2004![]() May PEACE and LOVE fill our hearts BLESSINGS and PROSPERITY fill our world And CONTENTMENT fill our lives this Christmas Season and beyond!

Happy Birthday, Sweety!Sunday, December 05, 2004Today is Pearl Leal's 21st birthday. She started celebrating her birthday since yesterday and we're so busy and tired here at home... Sweety, Happy Birthday! May all your wishes, dreams, and expectations will all come true. Eid MubarrakSunday, November 14, 2004Muslims worldwide are celebrating the end of Ramadan today. No wonder when Tintin and Sweety Pearl went with me for some grocery shopping at SM North Edsa, we were surprised that there were too many people shopping as if there was a Christmas shopping rush... Anyway, Eid Mubarrak to all! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUNJUN!Tuesday, November 09, 2004It's my son's 25th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Junjun! Ramadan KareemFriday, October 15, 2004Fasting season begins once again for the 1.4 billion Muslims all over the world. May this Holy month of Ramadan brings everlasting peace and unity to mankind. ![]() Ramadan Kareem to all Muslims! Happy 70th Birthday, Papa!Sunday, September 26, 2004Today is my father's 70th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Papa! Sorry if Pacette and Bhoie were not able to make it. Pacette was very ill and she didn't liked us all to get sick from her and Bhoie was on his flight back to Jeddah. As usual, Papa was stubborn enough not to invite his friends after he found out Bhoie will not cancel his flight to attend Papa's birthday. I know Papa's acting strange these days but, I prefer not to elaborate further why. Enough that we did our best and pushed through with the celebration. The wife of Junjun, Tintin, was with me along with her two sisters. We arrived late because I ran short of cash and it wasn't easy to look for Allied Bank ATM near us. Pacette caused the delay also when we waited for her until 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon but she didn't showed up. Pacette, please get well soon... It feels good my father was giving me importance by waiting for me before they started the celebration. Why I said this? Because he cares about his sons more than his daughters! Guess what? I brought my digital camera but, I forgot to take some photos when I got involved with my sister's visitors about politics issues. We both didn't liked the two women presidents. The interesting conversation lasted for 2 hours. We need to go home as my daughter sent SMS to buy her urgently ink cartridge for Epson stylus c32sx or HP deskjet 820Cxi. Epson black and colored ink cost me Php1,150.00! Shopping was not in my priority list for this week because I used my budget for my father's birthday celebration but, anyway, I got some grocery items for two weeks consumptions and sent Int'l Roaming eLoad to Junjun! There were many shoppers and strollers at SM North Edsa and looking at those people who bought many things, I couldn't help but asked, how many among them are like us who were forced to sell the property in order to survive.... Sometimes, special occasions brought sad memories and family disputes but, I did my part to control my temper in honor of Papa's birthday. My mother and Ate Neth knew very well the real story and whatever my youngest sister was gossiping against me, may God help her be enlightened. I love my siblings, yet, I wonder why jealousy in her heart should be a burden to a better relationship. I prayed for them everyday and I wish Beh will remember that she already asked for forgiveness few years back. There's no need to repeat the same mistakes over and over again just to make her believe she's doing better than me. Beh, please appreciate that I'm your elder sister and in my own special way, I played my part very well and helped our parents according to my means. If you are reading this, please release that hatred in your heart. There is no way you can put me down by telling evil things (you made) about me. You have three daughters and I didn't liked you to pass unto them your sins. Happy Birthday, Beh!Friday, September 17, 2004Today is my sister's birthday, Happy 41st Birthday, Beh! We called your house but, Madonna told us you went out in a picnic with Sarah and Ziad! Enjoy your day, sis, pero nasaan ang handa? Birthday Greetings, Pacette!Tuesday, September 14, 2004Happy 43rd Birthday, Pacette! Bhoie told me that you won in a jueteng bet on Saturday. How come you never told me about this when we were together on Sunday? Anyway, our planned party for Papa's birthday should be finalized one day ahead of time. Sana, next time, sa Lotto ka naman manalo, para may balato kaming lahat... Happy Birthday, Egay!Sunday, August 22, 2004Today is Egay's 34th Birthday! Happy Birthday, Egay! Egay is the youngest among my siblings. He is now back in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, because Bhoie is on vacation, too. They cannot leave their work at the same time because their presence are badly needed at work. Quezon City DayThursday, August 19, 2004It's a holiday today in Quezon City and Quezon province in celebration of Manuel Luis Quezon Day. Paul Denise took advantage of the situation and he went to SM North Edsa with his cousin, Jessie, and played computer games. I told him to buy me a new mouse but he forgot about it and spent the money... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EJ!Saturday, July 10, 2004Greetings to EJ, the eldest son of my brother, Egay. Egay arrived last night from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to be with his family for 35 days just in time to attend EJ's 14th birthday today. Happy 14th Birthday, EJ. We love you! SpaceShipOneMonday, June 21, 2004While investor and philanthropist Paul G. Allen and Scaled Composites launched the first private manned vehicle beyond the Earth's atmosphere today (Full Story Here): Back here in the Philippines, the Joint Committee finished canvassing the COC yesterday evening, the slowest ever in Philippine History: As expected, the incumbent lady president won against FPJ (in spite of massive fraud protests) in the preliminary canvass, and whether the true mandate of the majority of the Filipino people was not honored, I pray that those guilty ones be punished by their own conscience... How this nation will unite under the leadership of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, a nation with serious unemployment and overpopulation problems? The Joint Committee should publish in all tabloids the regional and provincial results of their canvass, so the people may know which places PGMA got support... 106th Independence DaySaturday, June 12, 2004Today marks the 106th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence from colonial rule but, do Filipinos have the reason to celebrate this day while we know the fact that the voice of the majority of the Filipino masses were not actually heard in the recent May 10 Presidential Polls because the actual winner allegedly was not winning in the canvassing, based on known issues reported by the opposition? It's a shameful fact that while technology is available in this country, the system used by the Arroyo government in the canvassing of our votes will put the Philippines on The Guinness Book of Records for having the slowest process of canvassing the votes in a presidential election. Happy Birthday, Bhoie!Friday, June 11, 2004Today is my brother's 39th birthday! Hey, Bro, you owe us a party, when are you coming home? This brother of mine, Bhoie, is working for General Motors in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, since 1996. He's not familiar with computer stuffs and I don't think he has the interest to use the net but, someday, somehow, I hope you will read this brief message of mine, that I am wishing the best for you, your wife and kids. May God bless you and the rest of our family always! Another YearSunday, June 06, 2004Today is my birthday, please do not ask me how young I am unless you want to buy me a birthday gift :D ![]() A remembrance photo of my 2004 birthday Sprain in my ankle prevented me from meeting Vera and Sherwin. Weather was bad since morning so, I decided to stay home instead of having an ultimate buffet with my family at Kamayan or at Billy's Jumbo Palace restaurant... When nephews and niece arrived one after the other, I just let them watched Shrek 2 and Harry Potter 2 while I was cleaning up the antique tables Tintin brought in early this morning. I had no plan of celebrating my birthday and yet a get-together with my family and loved ones made my birthday a very memorable one. Jojo, Ate Neth's eldest son, had some minus one video karaoke CDs with him and we had fun singing while Ana's kids were busy playing computer games in my room. My elder sister was not able to make it so she sent instead her kids... Many thanks to friends who remembered this very special day... National Flag DayFriday, May 28, 2004Today, May 28th, is our National Flag Day! Surprised? If I haven't seen it over GMA7's 24 Oras Local News, I wouldn't know about it.

Another Birthday Celebrant!Thursday, May 20, 2004Happy Birthday greetings to Sherwin Miñas of Sunvalley Subdivision. She's one of the key persons who helped us moved on with our lives. Just like Vera, with your generous heart and kind spirit, Sherwin, may God bless you both a thousand fold. Thank you very much for being my friend! Happy Birthday, Vera!Wednesday, May 19, 2004Today, I sent wonderful birthday wishes to a wonderful person, none other than my best friend, Happy Birthday, Vera, with love and prayers... Happy Birthday, Paul Denise!Monday, May 03, 2004Today is my second son's birthday! He was with me and Jessie, the son of Ate Neth, in Allied Bank AND, this is a remarkable day for me as well, as far as investment is concerned. Paul Denise, maybe you're annoyed with me at times for scolding you but, God knows I just want you to learn something from me to avoid repeating my mistakes. It wasn't true I have favoritism among you. You will understand what I mean when you have your own kids, someday... Happy Birthday, son... International Women's DayMonday, March 08, 2004In celebration of the 94th International Women's Day today, Republic Act No. 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, sponsored by Senate President Franklin Drilon, Senator Luisa Ejercito-Estrada and Speaker Jose de Venecia, was signed into law by PGMA, witnessed by top women officials of The Kalakasan (Strength) Foundation, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City. For in-depth understanding, read Inq7.com full report about Stiffer penalties for men who abuse their wives. Evangel Baptist ChurchSunday, February 22, 2004Leila Baque, my inaanak, invited me on their Evangel Baptist Church's 31st Anniversary today. It's a small group of born-again faithfuls who gather together every Saturdays and Sundays, along with their family members and loved ones to praise God, know His words, and to interact and communicate with fellow members (fellowship). The last time the veteran pastors had seen me was in November 1988, almost 16 years ago, when I attended Leila's wedding. I was one of the sponsors or Ninang. The children in the gathering outnumbered adults, who both performed their numbers in praising God. There were times we were asked to stand up and sing praises to God and they set up a game that no one is allowed to say "yes" or "no", "oo" or "hindi", "okay" and nodding head. Those who answered the forbidden words were asked to sign on a heart-shaped cartolina with their names on it and someone who gathered 33 signatures on a heart won a prize which was given later at the end of the celebration. There were "pabitin" and hitting "palayok" for both adults and children after the food was served. I enjoyed watching them having fun and forgot all about my "troubles" for a while. Somehow, I missed my children's presence but, they're grown-ups now and have different interests. I honestly appreciate Leila's gesture and hospitality, and Happy 31st Anniversary to all Evangel Baptist Church's pastors and members! Amon JadidSaturday, February 21, 2004It's "Amon Jadid" or the Islamic New Year today, which falls on the 1st of Muharram 1425 Hijrah (Awal Muharram 1425 "Maal Hijrah"), corresponding to the 21st of February 2004.
A Blessed and Prosperous Amon Jadid to all 1.3 billion Muslims worldwide! Read Minda News, a Publication of the Mindanao News and Information Cooperative Center Love is...Saturday, February 14, 2004Whenever someone asked me what does LOVE means, I immediately replied with a naughty grin, "Love is... is an ocean of emotions entirely surrounded with expenses!" Although I find it true, somehow, to me, LOVE is like water. Water? Why not say love is like a flower, as defined by most people? Love is like a flower because, according to them, it needs love and care or it dies. Well, obviously it sounds a selfish love to seek attention and it's life span seems so short. ![]() LOVE is like water because water seek its own level, aside from the fact that water is an integral part of life. LOVE is so complex that I find it best compared with water, because water, as we know, has many cycles. Each cycle drives the other parts. In Scientific concepts, there are six important processes that make up the water cycle. We know them as evaporation, condensation, precipitation, surface runoff, infiltration and transpiration. LOVE is in evaporation when the feeling is so strong and the more you control it, the more it becomes stronger, seeking that other person, no matter what happens... LOVE is in a condesation when there is nothing in your thoughts except that person, forming like a cloud, making yourself "blinded" at times... LOVE is in precipitation when you cannot help but shower that person you love with attention and affection... LOVE is in its surface runoff when your feelings are flowing energies, accepting anything about that person... LOVE is in infiltration state when you finally settled your feelings with that person, where impurities and imperfections are filtered out... LOVE is in transpiration state when your feelings grow much stronger, creating life, and that life created binds you together... And the process never-ends, love never dies. Love sometimes stay longer in one state but love will always be there, waiting to be noticed... I had slight fever and terrible headache the whole day. Thanks to Advil, I am back sitting infront of my PC late this evening. I find this Customized Pizza Order conversation a bit funny, so I'd thought of posting this here in my blog - this was originally posted at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arizona_humor/. Customized Pizza Order Operator: "Thank you for calling Pizza Hut. How May I serve you..." Customer: "Hi, I'd like to order." Operator: "May I have your NIDN first, sir?" Customer: "My National ID Number, yeah, hold on, eh, it's 6102049998-45-54610." Operator: "Thank you, Mr. Sheehan. I see you live at 1742 Meadowland Drive, and the phone number's 494-2366. Your office number over at Lincoln Insurance is 745-2302 and your cell number's 266-2566. Which number are you calling from, sir?" Customer: "Huh? I'm at home. Where d'ya get all this information?" Operator: "We're wired into the system, sir." Customer: (Sighs) "Oh, well, I'd like to order a couple of your All-Meat Special pizzas..." Operator: "I don't think that's a good idea, sir." Customer: "Whaddya mean?" Operator: "Sir, your medical records indicate that you've got very high blood pressure and extremely high cholesterol. Your National Health Care provider won't allow such an unhealthy choice." Customer: "Damn. What do you recommend, then?" Operator: "You might try our low-fat Soybean Yogurt Pizza. I'm sure you'll like it" Customer: "What makes you think I'd like something like that?" Operator: "Well, you checked out 'Gourmet Soybean Recipes' from your local library last week, sir. That's why I made the suggestion." Customer: "All right, all right. Give me two family sized ones, then. What's the damage?" Operator: "That should be plenty for you, your wife and your four kids, sir. The 'damage,' as you put it, heh, heh, comes $49.99." Customer: "Lemme give you my credit card number." Operator: "I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid you'll have to pay in cash. Your credit card balance is over its limit." Customer: "I'll run over to the ATM and get some cash before your driver gets here." Operator: "That won't work either, sir. Your checking account's overdrawn." Customer: "Never mind. Just send the pizzas. I'll have the cash ready. How long will it take?" Operator: "We're running a little behind, sir. It'll be about 45 minutes, sir. If you're in a hurry you might want to pick 'em up while you're out getting the cash, but carrying pizzas on a motorcycle can be a little awkward." Customer: "How the hell do you know I'm riding a bike?" Operator: "It says here you're in arrears on your car payments, so your car got repo'ed. But your Harley's paid up, so I just assumed that you'd be using it." Customer: "@#%/$@&?#!" Operator: "I'd advise watching your language, sir. You've already got a July 2006 conviction for cussing out a cop." Customer: (Speechless) Operator: "Will there be anything else, sir?" Customer: "No, nothing. oh, yeah, don't forget the two free liters of Coke your ad says I get with the pizzas." Operator: "I'm sorry sir, but our advert's exclusionary clause prevents us from offering free soda to diabetics." I was disappointed when I found out that domain name registration and web hosting are too expensive in my country - it's a kind of extortion. To get myself a domain name here will cost me a fortune of P4,000 (US$72.00) and a monthly fee of P2,000 (US36.00)! This is incredibly shocking... What made me more upset was when I checked out PayPal's website. They can accomodate account registrations only from people in 38 countries, and, sad to say, the Philippines is not on its list yet.
