* 13665: Review of Retired Warrant officer by Chiraag Suchak
I am extremely impressed with the progress Laila has made on blogshares, she has only been playing it for little over 1 year starting with B$500 and is now the richest blogshares user with an astonishing B$948,815,069,926,839.00. Dispite having all that wealth, Laila has been regularly doing blogshares contests, giving us the chance to win big prizes and has been raising money for poor children, and her brother Nasser.

Title: Retired Warrant Officer

URL: http://retiredwarrant.blogdrive.com/

The design is very good and clean although the logo makes the webpage feel \"cheap\",The blog is very easy to navigate with links clearly distinguishable.

The content is good and a normal web surfer can easily see what your blog is about with information about your views, and your personal life. I definetly agree with what you think\" The State is broke. You can\'t continue to spend $1.10 for each $1.00 taken in\" it is also quite interesting to read with certain comments such as \"Usually we do a really crummy job on drywall\"

Randy(the owner of the blog) updates the blog everyday, so it is being constantly updated. So this gives us a reason to visit daily.

Loading time seems to be good on a 512k connection, and the total size of the webpage is 237566 bytes, which is average. I reccomend removing an advert or any other unnessessary objects.

Overall I would give the site 3.9/5

I am extremely impressed with the progress Laila has made on blogshares, she has only been playing it for little over 1 year starting with B$500 and is now the richest blogshares user with an astonishing B$948,815,069,926,839.00. She is a premium member, and hopefully I will be soon.

P.S happy birthday in advance on June 6th

Laila* started playing BlogShares on December 31 2003, shortly after winning B$400 Billion, Laila is now a part of the BlogShares premium by an sponsor from another retired B$ member named Alfonso. Started with B$500 and is slowly going up and after 4 months online she became a trillionaire and and is one of the top ten richest players. Even before Laila has been so generous and has been sharing her wealth via B$ contests. A year after Laila became the B$ most richest player. Her generosity has given hope to even poor children with her charity sponsorship. In her struggle to get to the top, Laila experienced tremendous, sacrifices, problems and at some point frustrations due to some lack of certain game rules and policies, but despite that, she still managed to get to the top spot with ease.

I play BlogShares, in case you do not know. BlogShares is a fantasy stock market where weblogs are the companies. Players invest fictional dollars on shares in blogs. Blogs are valued by their incoming links and add value to other blogs by linking to them. Prices can go up or down based on trading and the underlying value of the blog. Here, view my BlogShares profile

Laila* the worlds richest B$ player with over B$950 Quadrillion net worth has decided to give 10 premium memberships on the event of her birthday on June 6. Happy Birthday! Each premium membership is worht $15.00. Well i have to admit, i got most of B$ earnings with her help and advice. Like, 1) Using Firefox 2) utilizing your Favorites 3) invest mostly on ideas 4) raid often. I even got my premium membership from her.

Laila's Weblog - A Journey Through Life was born on March 2003, a three years and 3 months old blog with its first post entitled First Filipino to Fly as a passenger dated February 12, 2003. A Journey Through Life is mostly a personal blog with most entry categorized as Family Matters with almost 80 posts. Although the January was writen on the page but it generates a 404 error page so it must be a broken link. The blog has evolved several modifications since i have last visited and also before using movable type, this was once powered by blogger and geocities. /Despite all modifications it still maintains its pink color flower theme.

* 21043: Review of Laila* ’s weblog by Steverino

In a little over 1 year, she has gone from newbie, to the top of the heap. While blogging about her progress through this Fantasy stock market game, she has climbed through the ranks to the top of the virtual heap.

As a result of her success, Laila* has sponsored many contests to help other players get ahead in the game, which is the reason for this review.

My review of her blog? It is very well designed, asthetically pleasing, yet most of her posts are about Blogshares, little substance about her personally. I give her site 3 stars out of 4.

Review of Laila* ’s weblog

The asterisk after her name indicates she is the #1 richest Blogshares player. In a little over 1 year, she has gone from newbie, to the top of the heap. While blogging about her progress through this Fantasy stock market game, she has climbed through the ranks to the top of the virtual heap.

Her Blogshares profile says it all in one sentence. This game can be very habit-forming. I myself started this game several months ago, and have gotten into the top 200, of thousands of players. My profile shows me ranking at #209, but it also shows 232% growth for the month of May 2005. Though that’s not as good as my April 2005 growth, which was 2,242%!

As a result of her success, Laila* has sponsored many contests to help other players get ahead in the game, which is the reason for this review. If I am successful, I will be awarded a free premium membership, which will give me several perks to help me climb through the ranks even farther.

* 29754: A Journey Through Life by Denis Briel

On top of all that, she is a MASTER in the though world of blogshares. In January this year, she moved up to become THE top player of blogshares and has been able to defend this position up to now. Generous as she is, she has now openend a contest to sponsor 10 (ten) blogshare premium memberships. WOW, you are probably thinking right now, sponsoring something on play money, ho generous.... Well, let me assure you that this is NOT about play money. The premium memberships cost real-life bucks!! $15 each, to be excact. So she is actually giving away 150 bucks and asks nothing than a blog review in return.
Well, before getting started with VS 2005 BETA 2 tonight, I came across this very interesting blog:
        http://www.ladylaila.net/blog/
The blog is written by a woman named Laila, based in Manila.

The Design
I really like the design, although normally I'm not a big fan of background pictures. But I gotta admit, if it is done like on this site (discreet, unobtrusive and adequate), I guess it's OK then.. :)
The colors are a question of taste, and as you all know, you can't argue about taste. But I gotta admit, it's not my style. ;)
All in all, the design is very clean, concise and very readable.

The Content
Laila blogs about everything that is on her mind. The blogs description is as follows:
A lifelog of a well-travelled single parent who had a life extension in 2000, blogs indiscriminately about her journey through life fulfilling unfinished business and promises, searching for the missing pieces that will soon complete her existence...
Pretty accurate description I would say. Among other stuff, she posts problems with and thoughts concerning her three children (two boys and a girl) as they try to master the obstacles of life.
Let me give you an example:
For the past three days, my daughter became busier outside our home. She's pursuing a job which made me feel upset lately because next month, school year 2005-2006 will start and I want her to continue her studies in college taking up Engineering course.

When I told her last month that I can afford to send them to the university for another year, she started thinking about getting a job instead and suggested she will take care of her school expense by herself once she's able to.
This idea made me feel uncomfortable. I made a vow (to God) to send them to school while I can still afford it but now that she changed her mind, I am not sure whether I should be happy my youngest kid is now responsible and thinking of helping with the household expense.

I think it is very interesting to read this stuff from a mothers point of view, because it makes me think about what my mum probably thought when I told her almost the same thing.

Mixed Stuff
On top of all that, she is a MASTER in the though world of blogshares. In January this year, she moved up to become THE top player of blogshares and has been able to defend this position up to now. Generous as she is, she has now openend a contest to sponsor 10 (ten) blogshare premium memberships. WOW, you are probably thinking right now, sponsoring something on play money, ho generous.... Well, let me assure you that this is NOT about play money. The premium memberships cost real-life bucks!! $15 each, to be excact. So she is actually giving away 150 bucks and asks nothing than a blog review in return.

So, Laila, here's my entry. ;)

May you be around for a long time to come and enjoy your life with your children!

Laila's Blog is pretty consistent, with lots of posting about family, intersperced with some tidbits about Blogshares. Since she is the number one/two player on Blogshares(depending on the day), she is often involved in give aways. See July 5 and July 15 for examples. Laila works with most of the giveaways I've seen so far on Blogshares. Not only is she active in the game, buther blog wins awards AND she had to upgrade her account because of so many readers (we should all have such problems :) )

Randy seems to stick mostly to his home life and politics. Randy is currently 8th in the top players' standings. I have to admit, I've not seen him post much, Laila seems to be everywhere, so maybe that's just a little unfair. I assume they are working in concert on this premium membership giveaway.

Blogging Elite from Blogshares

For those who have not yet checked out Blogshares, please do. It's a really interesting blog-trading 'game' geared towards the economic-minded, business type. But, here I am, a typical student, having a tremendous time with it! Plus it's a great way to find new and interesting blogs.

Speaking of, there are two blogs imparticular I wanted to talk about. Both of these bloggers are leaders in the Blogshares game. Laila started blogging to get in touch with her long lost friends and keep in touch with family, I believe she still lives in the Philippines, and dedicates most of her writings to her three children. Randy, on the other hand, is a retired naval officer who lives in San Diego with his wife. They are currently redoing their home which, as many know, is always a challenge -- Randy and his wife do most of the stuff Do-it-Yourself or DIY.

Randy's blog is probably more my type since he blogs almost every day, particularly giving note when he's bored etc. It's also why I like JC's blog so much. Randy seems to stick mostly to his home life and politics. Randy is currently 8th in the top players' standings. I have to admit, I've not seen him post much, Laila seems to be everywhere, so maybe that's just a little unfair. I assume they are working in concert on this premium membership giveaway.

Best of luck to both of them. Please go visit their blogs.

Layla's Weblog - a Journey of Life

I found this blog a few days ago and I kinda like the approach of it. Talking about normal everyday things in a not so everyday way, like birthday, mother's day, and lots of family pictures. I simply like the idea of seeing life as a journey, which is seperated in different Journeys, which are like categories. the only thing I realized is that most posts are kinda shortish, or if they are longer the lenth is caused by photos. I miss getting to read more than just a few lines in each entry. But I like the background image, and the color scheme....

One of the things that you can do to make more money (if you don't have a kind benefactor) is to complete "Missions" which are basically tasks that are proposed by other members. So here is mine. I am to review one of the top player's blogs in my blog. I chose to check out RWO (Retired Warrant Officer)'s blog since it seemed everyone else was doing Laila's blog

Blogshares ho, I is.

Well, now that I've figured out Blogshares and have been participating, it's turned into be quite the addictive thing! You're buying and selling shares of other people's blogs, hopefully for a profit. It's a good thing it's pretend money cuz I blew $3BILLION in the first week by buying and selling things I shouldn't have been or something. lol Some kind stranger helped and so now I'm more careful! :D

One of the things that you can do to make more money (if you don't have a kind benefactor) is to complete "Missions" which are basically tasks that are proposed by other members. So here is mine. I am to review one of the top player's blogs in my blog. I chose to check out RWO (Retired Warrant Officer)'s blog since it seemed everyone else was doing Laila's blog. In fact, there's already so many entries, this probably won't win, but what the hell. :)

Anyways, Randy is a Retired Warrant Officer who now teaches, is going to college and apparently is also being kept busy doing some home repairs for wifey :) His blog tends to keep up with California politics, as well as US politics in general. I consider myself pretty much down-the-center when it comes to politics. I think Bush is an a$$, but he IS our leader, so blahblahblah, gotta respect that anyays. He brought my attention to some things that were just infuriating (US Govt is gonna pay for illegal aliens to have health insurance, but my Made In The USA Ass isn't covered by squat), and things like this:

A soldier mom, stationed in Iraq, tried to call her son on his cell while at school. The school assholes tried to take the phone away and the call got disconnected. They then would not let him answer it again when she tried to call back! Thier policy is that the kids aren't allowed cell calls during the day ... "They're not supposed to use them for conversating back and forth during school because if they were allowed to do that, they could be text messaging each other for test questions."

This kid's mom is away for a YEAR. They suspended this kid for the rest of the school year because he cursed and was "disorderly". Well hell yeah!

Ok, so anyways, I enjoyed reading his blog. I learned some, found some cute things (See my weather pixie ???) and will definitely make it point to go back (blogrolling is awesome). Oh, and he's a Neopetter! I used Neopets about 6 years ago, before getting suspended (LOL Maybe I swore?). So even though we're seeminly at polar opposites on some things, we also enjoy some of the same things, and being that I'm a Rhody girl, I JUST LOVE Navy guys :D

Oh, and just in case RWO does read this entry, I'm glad your wifey's problems weren't cancer!!! What a huge relief. But all those ads on the top of the blog really gotta go :)

Lalia's blog has been around for a while, so she knows what she's doing. It is a rather personal blog, often she posts about family life or her opinon on a topic, but she also posts about a veriety of other topics from tv shows to jokes to technology. It really is a blog with depth.

She often blogs about blogging and has posted quite a bit about Blogshares. Whether she had intended for it to help other players or not i do not know, but her posts about her climb to the top of blogshares have helped other players also trying to reach the top, either by motivating them to continue or giving them clues about how to reach the top.

Now she is offering these free memberships to the rest of us. It shows that she did not just let her blog set there collecting virtual dust, but actually did something with it.

Blog Reveiw (A Journey Through Life)

#250 - Ten (10) Premium Membership
In celebration of my forthcoming birthday in June, we will be offering Ten (10) Premium Memberships upgrade FREE to both old and new players as I'm nearly at Quadrillion net worth. To qualify, all you have to do is review A Journey Through Life or Retired Warrant Officer blog: Blog about us and what's your impressions how we are doing as top BlogShares players and please submit your entry here on or before June 6, 2005.

So First, this reveiw is mainly for that blogshare mission. So Happy Birthday Lalia*!

After reading many of these posts you can see that she has grown alot in her blogging exploits. An earlier post states:
Since I registered with BlogShares - a fantasy stock market for weblogs 7 days ago, it had a 143962.25% growth in net worth. Started with B$500 investment plus 1,750 Slashdot.org shares given by Afonso, some shares were sold to mars/iris Securities and The Geek using different artefacts (like Reality Distortion Field, Tux, Master Hacker, Improbability Drive, Glasses, Experiment, Network Engineer, Killer app, Oxford Dictionary and Scoop) during Hostile takeover and Restructure of Slashdot.org.

I still do not understand well what's going on but I will blog the figures here later to save time opening my BlogShares Records. In the meantime, I'm off for lunch now...

If you haven't play yet on BlogShares, give it a try. I still haven't figure out all these but willing to explore what other bloggers are doing with it...

Now she is offering these free memberships to the rest of us. It shows that she did not just let her blog set there collecting virtual dust, but actually did something with it.

The blog has an excellent layout. It is very clean and feminine, it seems to be a very good representation of her personality. You can tell she put a lot of time and talent into her layout, though to some extent it looks like many other movable type powered blogs.
Overall her blog is definatly among the top blogs I've read (although I don't always agree with her opinions, especially on politics.) This is a blog that I blogmarked a while ago and love to stop by to see what she's posted.

Money isn’t everything … or NOT ?

Archiviato in: Quotidianità — Ehol @ 11:25

I know, I know … this is an italian weblog.
Which leads many to think that it should be written in italian language.
Well, don’t be afraid : I ‘m writing a post in english because this is the review of two blogs, LadyLaila and RWO, written by two of the top players (actually Laila IS the top player) of Blogshares, a virtual trading online game that I joined more than a month ago.

A mission issued by Laila states that the best 10 reviews of their blogs will eventually win a premium membership to the game itself.

So here I am, selling myself for a prize.
Obviously I’m joking, because indeed it was a pleasure reading those two blogs.

They are both kind, nice persons and life gave them their share of problems. A prayer and a “good luck” to both of them.

I can’t comment further on their personal lives but I will make some comparisons between their blogs and their styles :

  1. Laila’s pink and full of flowers MT Template is far more enjoyable that the aseptic and rigid Blogdrive template that Randy choose. Maybe it could be a derivation of an ex-military mind, going for effectiveness and functionality rather than aestethics. All in all I prefer warm colours. And definitely I am upset by white background. Laila wins
  2. I like comics so much. So, the daily comic stripe Randy choose to insert on top of page, definitely grants a goal on his part. Randy wins
  3. Their blogshares category, even if it’s still a little more hidden that it should be (IMHO), are very well done and understandable. Score Even
  4. Their styles of writing are both clear, clever and polite. I sense a greater warmness in Laila style, but it’s perhaps a matter of personal taste. So I won’t misjudge and settle an even. Just a little advice for Randy : control the spelling of your posts since sometimes I found some mispelling. Nothing too awful, but I like clean writings
  5. Their Blogshares career was astounding from every point of view. However, I don’t like mixing real money with game money, so their policy to set bids for game money isn’t at all my kind. Anyway I found their gaming capabilities something to be respectful for
In the end, I wish them all the best. And I hope they will be pleased with this review : after all, it is money we’re talking about. Or not ?

Now onto Blogshares, a really fun blog trading game that I just got into a few days ago. I noticed that the richest player Laila (a lovely Filipina with 3 kids who is a multi-trillionaire or something!) was running a contest to give away free premium memberships for her upcoming birthday.

One of her recent posts was about her 21 year old daughter wanted to start working and put off her studies in engineering for awhile even though Laila wanted to pay for her schooling.

One of her recent posts was about her 21 year old daughter wanted to start working and put off her studies in engineering for awhile even though Laila wanted to pay for her schooling. This reminded me of how my brother wants to double major in industrial design in addition to sculpture so he can increase his employability. My dad seemed to be very against the idea because he wants my brother to first finish his degree. Well, it's a slightly different situation... though I personally think that my brother should be the one to decide if he wants to double major even if my dad is paying for it. And I kind of think it's admirable that Laila's daughter is willing to work and support the family. I worked part time while I was in college, though I probably didn't have to. I'm sure I would have done better academically if I hadn't worked, but it was still valuable experience.

She writes from the viewpoint of a single parent in the Phillipines providing me a better understanding of a facet of life in a neighbouring ASEAN country.

After skimming through several months of archived posts, she comes across to me as a very warm and caring person trying to live life with meaning, guided by faith. Some posts were truly heart warming, touching on friends and family - the people who really matter to us.

Her journey through the world of blogshares, is nothing short of astounding. Shrewd and aggressive and at the same time warm and generous- she definitely deserves unstinting praise as to how she got on top. If this was the real world and not a virtual one, those on top would not have gotten there through generosity and virtue.

Review: A Journey Through Life

I was surfing through blogshares just before knocking off for the day and a curious ad about winning a premium blogshares membership caught my eye. To the uninitiated, blogshares is a fantasy stockmarket based on the value of blogs. Read more here.

The competition was a simple task of reviewing Laila's blog. Out of curiousity I clicked on the link and started reading her blog, 'A Journey Through Life' which I found to be very interesting.

Her unspoken hopes for her children which touched me and reminded me of my own parents' sacrifices to see me through my education abroad. Perhaps this was an apt reminder that a parent's love is boundless yet it is not easy to be a parent.

Her journey through the world of blogshares, is nothing short of astounding. Shrewd and aggressive and at the same time warm and generous- she definitely deserves unstinting praise as to how she got on top. If this was the real world and not a virtual one, those on top would not have gotten there through generosity and virtue.

All in all, reading this blog was somewhat an eye opener, a different flavour indeed as compared to all the blogs I have been reading recently, mainly by people my age.

Thank you Laila for sharing.

I find her introduction doesn't really give you a true picture of her Journey Through Life due to the use of the word indiscriminately in her introduction. "Why do you think that?", I hear you ask? Because Laila's blog is anything but indiscriminate: Laila tells us, throughout her blog, of her journeys - both literal and metaphorical - in an honest and open way, so that's why I wouldn't use the word indiscrimnate to describe her Journey Through Life.

The final area that I need to discuss is how Laila is doing as the top BlogShares player, so have a look at this to see Laila's placement on the ladder of BlogShares capitalists:

1. Laila*
(B$982,407,022,945,849.00 total value / B$25,537,185,685,530.80 cash balance)
(2.84 % growth for this month)

BlogShared: Mission

Having had the opportunity to review Laila's A Journey Through Life some time back and having won a considerable amount of BS Dollars, I now have the opportunity to undertake a second review with the possibility of winning a Premium membership to BlogShares or a variety of other prizes.

Here's Laila's introduction to her blog:

"A lifelog of a well-travelled single parent who had a life extension in 2000, blogs indiscriminately about her journey through life fulfilling unfinished business and promises, searching for the missing pieces that will soon complete her existence..."

Take this, for example:

"I have been in a desperate mood for the last few days but the excellent news that the World Health Organization on Wednesday removed the Philippines from a list of countries with recent local transmission of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome made me feel better. Health officials said there were still four suspected SARS cases under observation in an undisclosed government hospital, but all the patients showed symptoms after returning from overseas trips, not because of local transmission. And we had no new cases of SARS for the past 20 days--twice the maximum incubation period. Meanwhile, the financial crisis at home prompted me to think twice of selling my house. We are in a difficult situation that I must make a major decision soon and live within our capacity and means. I wish I have 'my other half'... deciding matters as a single parent has not been easy."
That's not indiscriminate: it's telling life as Laila experiences it.

As I reviewed Laila's Journey earlier, I thought it might be useful to go back and have a look at the things I didn't like about Laila's layout and see what had changed:

  • As a user of FireFox, Laila's blog at time jiggles when using mouse over links (e.g. Monthly Archives to the right of her blog posts. This is most disconcerting whilst trying to read the blog but it doesn't - at least for me - when I power up IE (which I am loathe to do). Fixed - doesn't happen any more!
  • I find the static image (i.e. the flowers) to decrease the readability of the posts without having to scroll up and down for particular paragraphs. A lighter static image could help with this difficulty. Fixed - Image has been clipped and moved to the top right of the screen. Not only does this make the blog easier to read on my screen, I can also read the blog easier regardless of the size of my browser window.
  • The boxes that appear on mouse-over are easy to read in FireFox but difficult in IE: a good example of the various implementations of CSS across platforms. Doesn't matter - as I never use IE to browse blogs these days.
Looking back at these comments of mine, Laila has done an excellent job of increasing the readability of her blog - good one!

The final area that I need to discuss is how Laila is doing as the top BlogShares player, so have a look at this to see Laila's placement on the ladder of BlogShares capitalists:

1. Laila*
(B$982,407,022,945,849.00 total value / B$25,537,185,685,530.80 cash balance)
(2.84 % growth for this month)
and compare it to my place on the ladder:
217. Rantzalot (Sir)
(B$564,187,381,291.80 total value / B$525,669,872,683.75 cash balance)
(0.95% growth in net worth this month)
All in all, I'd say Laila is doing a rather excellent job at blogging, at being a BlogShares player and at being a single mum*: congratulations and keep up the good work!

Considering that she's a single parent with three children, her performance in Blogshares is outstanding!!! (not to mention that's she's also an active NEOPET player) Being a BlogShares player since Jan 2004 (cmiiw), she's now ranked as top player with a networth nearing B$ 1 Quadrillion!! For all BlogShares player, you gotta check her history here.

But then again she proved that she can claimed the throne without being selfish and consumed by greed. She helped many nOObs along the way and also sponsored them to be premium player (wish I were in the queue, hehehe..) and not just helping people in game only, but extent the generosity to the real world by donating Save The Children organization(read).

B$ Mission #250

Mabuhay!

I'm signing up for a BlogShares Mission and now I'm going to blog about BlogShares number one player, Laila* and her blog, "A Journey Through Life".

It's just crazy, i think, hahaha.. Become a billionaire in nine days??? and become a premium member the next day!? Awesome! Well, still a long journey to the throne of BlogShares, and a not-so-smooth road.

And now, in celebration of her forthcoming birthday in June, she offers Ten (10) Premium Memberships upgrade FREE! ($_$) WOW!!! So I dedicated this post to her and hoping that it's qualify for the mission, hehehe.. Happy Birthday, Laila! I may not know you very well, but your resourceful blog has indeed communicating your personality to everybody who were reading it. I know I might sound trying my best to flatter you, but then again, it's not the result that count but the process (or as one said, it's the game that we enjoy, hehe..). To have such interaction with you will surely be a nice experience for me, and the consolation price is more than enough for me, although I really don't mind if you gave me one of ten premium membership you offered.. (who would mind anyway, hehehe..) By the way, did you happen to have a daughter at about the same age with me? ;D

I read Laila's page stating that she will give five billion Blogshares dollars to every newbies.

Again, Laila help me much when she created her personal mission to collect 700.000 chips. She is willing to buy chips at above market rate: 35 million B$ each.

It seems that Laila got several jumps, which might make her rather unprepared of Blogshares antiques (like PRDs and HTOs, especially on top blogs). Or is it others were rather unprepared of Laila's increasing valuation?

But what impressed me most is Laila's never ending generosity. She had given back much more than she received initially. Remember 35 million B$/chip? 5 billion for 1 share? Those make newbies entry much more easier to bridge a huge disparity (B$ 500 newbie vs 1 quadrillion richest player). She was not stopped at that, but also spread her "wealth" to real world through Save The Children. Very good examples. A game can be much more than just having fun.

Never Ending Generosity

I don't remember exactly how I got involved in this very, very addicting game called Blogshares. But it has been fun. Maybe it was started from a posting in id-gmail. I would have been playing "normally" if Enda haven't give me some stocks to play with. But then another, shocking event happened. I read Laila's page stating that she will give five billion Blogshares dollars to every newbies. Whaaat? I didn't believe it initially. But I said to myself that I have nothing to loose. So I put a sell order on one of my cheapest stock I have, set its price to 5M B$, send a PM to Laila regarding that, and wait, and wait, very nervously.

Then the most wanted answer came, and I got a first taste of Blogshares $ million. A huge jump from initial B$ 500 every new player got. But what to do with this much of "money"? This stage is very shaky. I bought ideas, created artefacts, and blindly trying to follow rich players' way. Of course without much success in gaining thousandfolds valuation in the shortest time.

So, treasure hunt continues. Then I know that chips can be sold around 25 million B$ each. Chip hunting period started. Again, Laila help me much when she created her personal mission to collect 700.000 chips. She is willing to buy chips at above market rate: 35 million B$ each. But unfortunately, I use an ISP which utilize transparent HTTP proxy which use round robin. This invalidates some of my industry moderations which if was succeed will reward me more chips per item I moderated than voting (which in turn will be moderated).

More fun is guaranteed when you have friends to play along with. But then, I'm in the middle of an internal battle: to continue playing as a normal member, with transaction limitations; or became premium member, which will allow unlimited transactions daily. To be a premium member, we, Indonesians, can't do easily because we can't use PayPal. Alternatively we can trade 18.000 chips for premium membership. But collecting 18.000 chips takes time. So when Laila created a mission which will give 10 winners free upgrades to premium membership, I got another urge to try premium.

Well, this part will contain my 'review' to Laila's blog, if you can call this a review.

Thanks Laila.

So who is Laila? Laila is a single mother of three grown children. She has 2 boys and a girl. She lives in the phillipines. She had a "life extending event" in 2000 where she almost died twice. She can give you ALL the details on this page, but in a nutshell, her marriage to a wonderful man of 10 years came to an end and she became depressed, addicted to pills and hit rock bottom. Laila asked for a miracle from God and she got it. In her darkest hour she got herself together, got off the pills, got back with her husband and then realized she needed a life without him. (Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.) She began a new life as a single parent.

She also outlines some of her personal stugggles as well. I saw where there was a time when she was trying to get a job, but could not find one.

Now as for blogshares, Laila is a premuim player with elite status I do believe...one of those players who know the game inside and out. Her status in the game says it all. She is the richest player in the game. She soon will be a Quadrillionaire! These are her current stats. Now they are subject to change just seconds from now as she could be buying and selling and raiding blogs even as we speak, changing her net worth. Here is where Laila is as of my post at 7:41pm my time.
  • rank: number 1 player-richest
  • cash balance: B$58,008,287,746,773.28

Laila's Journey Through Life: A Review

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

As part of a blogshare contest in the hopes of securing a free premium upgrade, my mission was to review Laila's blog and blog about it. You know when you just begin to read about a blog you have never really visited before, it is hard to just jump in and think you know what is going on. You really have to browse thru the archives to get a good feel or get some incite into the person who owns the blog.

I really can relate to her story as I have been thru many a challenge myself having survived abusive parents. When I look back I do not know how I made it. Like Laila, it was not my time to go either.

Laila's blog outlines her travels, her journey with her family, both the ups and the downs. She also outlines some of her personal stugggles as well. I saw where there was a time when she was trying to get a job, but could not find one. She also indicates that she has been struggling with weight as well. Laila does also blog about world events and events that are happening in her country. Her lastest family concern is with her daughter deciding to enter the work world and not to continue with her studies. Through it all I see her mention her faith and belief in God. From what I can tell, her faith and belief helps her every day and in every way.

Laila's blog is quite delicate in design. The color, the florals and the butterflies seem to fit the journey she has given herself to find the " missing pieces that will soon complete her existence." It is an interesting blog.

I have just discovered how to raid a blog. In the last 2 weeks, I just read what it meant and how to do it. I just wish I had read that help page about 6 months ago. I would be richer without those transaction fees. I will soon try to do a hostile take over and see what the hype and the use of double artifacts are all about. I am fairly still a newby...trying to see what all those things on blogshares are and how they work. I have not had a lot of time in the past do much else except buy stock. My biggest thing to date has just been buying shares in blogs. So, I am aspiring to be like Laila. I just want to learn to wheel and deal those artifacts, ideas and bonds like a pro.

In light of that, I am submitting this entry in hopes of winning a premium membership upgrade. I will be able to do more and hopefully increase my skill in the game.

Happy Early Birthday Laila!

happy birthday!

en:

It’s 1 o’clock in the morning, June the 6th,Ochie’s birthday. I’ve done nothing much for her birthday this year, just a lot of hoping and praying; wishing her to be more patient, strong, and resilient.

i am not a poet, nothing much to scribble down here. i just want to say that i love her, much, and i will nourish this feeling with all my heart.

today is happen to be Laila*’s b’day also. she had done many things for me and all of the blogshareses player.

i won’t be able to plunge myself deep into blogshares if these two great women are not helping me. ochie is by my side, supporting whatever things i do, while laila had helped me in all of her missions. and all those freebies! how they affected me!

i bet there are lots of people (and more) that owe her tons of gratefulness; all are humbly put on laila’s feet. not only she gives away freebies, but laila is also assist me in getting the easiest way to swollen the profit, raiding and bonds. snaily, but that is the safest, way more safe than mine, big blogs.

Laila’s journey in becoming a top player had been written in her blog. not only the readers and blogshare players do the blogwalking. laila’s blog has frequently been visited by someone, who paid very much attention to the figures in dollar (while actually they’re just blogshares dollar) and asking for help to laila via email with the subject: SAVE ME

Laila is currently the matriarch or the holds the #1 position at BlogShares, a fantasy stock market that can be found here.www.blogshare.com.I’ll warn my readers in advance the game is highly addictive. She is the God of the game and currently holds a net worth of 950 trillion being the richest BlogShares player in the world. I wish Laila all the best in achieving the goal of achieving the 1 Quadrillion mark

Laila job as a top BlogShares player is fascinating to a new user like me, she plays the game with great skill and anticipation at the same time she is not really worried about the money, she gives away generously to new players as her profile tells us she is no longer playing for money but for entertainment. From what i have heard Laila is also using her resources in the game to help children in the real world. Just asking a few players on #BlogShares (chat room) about Laila will tell you that she has touched the hearts of each and each every player and most of them have nothing but kind words and praise to offer. A Journey Through Life

I am going to review Laila's blog here or rather give my best shot at trying to review her blog because it is not possible to easily review such a great blog without missing out on key certain details. How ever i hope that i include all the relevant details and get the reward.

Laila is currently the matriarch or the holds the #1 position at BlogShares, a fantasy stock market that can be found here.www.blogshare.com.I’ll warn my readers in advance the game is highly addictive. I don’t know Laila personally but have heard from many while I have been at BlogShares, that she is a sweet, kind and helpful and she especially loves to help noobs."Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see" Now over to the blog

I loaded the blog 5 times using three different browsers (IE, FireFox and Netscape). The blog took average time to load with all three browsers. As soon as the page opened I saw the light pink background along with the flowers, which appears to be a very delicate and soft impression. This is a much needed change from all those extra flashy colours like scarlet and over extensive
use of Black as the background. The header was quick in capturing my attention, it is very well defined and at the same time to the point. The flowers in background give real life to the page and its nice to see that they have been placed in such a way that they make the text underneath them easier to read. There are several things on the page for example the calendar and its good to see that they are not scattered but organized in one corner. This gives the blog a very professional look. The blog achieve is an irreplaceable resource and the links section is also perfectly placed on the right hand side of the page. The photo is blended with pink edges giving a more specious look. Overall the site is easy to navigate about and i could never lose myself there. One outstanding thing is that the advertisements are not located on top of the page but in the lower half are related to the topics in the blog. Readers often find haphazardly places advertisements very irritating

I wonder if I supposed to tell you about your life. Well I skimmed through the content and the site is very interesting. You not only blog about personal stuff but occasionally about other stuff around you also I found this very interesting and even if you had not offered premium memberships I would have stuck around to read the blog. The pictures of the family, friends are a bonus are a plus point they do not make me feel like an outsider but as someone who has known you all for ages. This makes the reader feel like visiting the blog again and again a strong bond is formed. Readers can see the hopes and dreams you have for your children and the sacrifices you has made for the welfare of three children as a single mother.

Just one thing I would like to criticize although the pink background suits this blog, it along with you picture could be changed replacing both of them to make the blog look more cheerful. You could probably add another picture of yours, which matches the new background. This site could be used as a means to communicate with other mothers on their experiences and indirectly give them advice on problems they face in raising their children.

I have only been at BlogShares for 9 days now but I already in the top 300.I am ranked at 280,I wrote this review to get premium because I feel that a free account is hampering my progress and I can do a lot better with a premium account. My portfolio speaks for itself its quite impressive compared to other new members and keeping in mind the fact that I am only sixteen .I would get premium myself but I live in a Asia and paypal is not available here secondly my parents wound not allow me to spend money even if we had paypal.
